"atlantic city" or "price check"

Hey Journal!

Today was ATLANTIC CITY!

I was quite exhausted after the fun and excitement yesterday, but I was able to get enough sleep and got up early and was ready to go!

I got over to Dan's at 7:00 on the dot and I hoped finish the bagel buttering and bagging process. Such craziness!

I was just reading my entry from last year's Atlantic City trip..and it brought back such memories. I love my Journal. LOL

So anyway, we all met at the park and ride in Melville and the bus pulled up a little before 8:00. Of course there were some stragglers who forced us to leave 15 minutes late. Such beasties. Scott, the guy who runs this little excursion has to be one of the most obnoxious people in the world!

On the ride there I listened to my iPod and took a nice nap. On the ride there they played 15 games of bingo, which, is a nice idea to play bingo to pass the time on the bus, but you have to pay $5 to play, and the most you were likely to win was $15. And even at that, you have to play ALL the games, so if you had your fill after 5 games.. if you don't continue to play you have no chance of winning anything because the winners were the people who won the most individual games. PLUS, they kept changing the payout rules back and forth... which clearly you don't do once the game has started. I was just happy I didn't participate! LOL Although I could hear Scott screamning the numbers on top of my iPod! lol

Anyway, we arrived in Atlantic city and drove though the ghetto area over to the boardwalk! (Mexico Lindo!!) And then we were at "The Trop!" Ah, welcome back to the good old Tropicana! Dan and I started with the $5 credit we got from the bus, and I lost it pretty quickly. Then we took a 2 minute walk down the road to go to a Bank of America to get some cashola. We each took out $80.

We came back and played some slots, mostly in the Penny Pavilion, but we weren't doing too great.

At about 12:30 we took a walk around with Dan's mom and dad, and Val and Bill. We walked down the boardwalk and then had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe which was in Trump's casino. Lunch was very fun, I got the Chicken Fried Chicken, and it was very enjoyable.

We then walked a little more and went to Bally's which has a really cool Wild West theme! I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I found my best friend slot machine, the "Price Check" I put in a $20 and started playing, and twice I got the "Price Check bonus"! Before I knew it, i had $35, and then I cashed out... cause I know my luck! lol Then I went over to watch Dan, but decided 5 minutes later to come back to the good old price check. I put in my $35, and soon I had $65! I left again. I came back 2 minutes later, and lost $5. Blast. But I left Bally's with $60, $40 more than I started with.

We then went over to Caesar, Does anyone remember the game show Caesar's Palace? It was on like...channel 11 or 9 or something. What a great game show. Anyway... it's awful in there, the smoke is EVERYWHERE. See, smoking is horrible. And smoking indoors is atrocious. We don't know how lucky we are to live in NY and have all indoor smoking banned. It's a blessing.. it really is. We are so much better off than so many other places.

Anyway, in the other casinos, the smoke is annoying, but in Caesars, the ceilings are relatively low.. which makes it 1000 times worse!

We didn't stay there that long, but Dan played a cool table game called Sic-Bo. He was doing okay with it, but then on his last play, he wanted to put down a bed on 13 as the total of the dice, and Dan's dad told him not to, and if he had, he would have won $40! Darn.

After that we walked around this mall area across the street, then we went back to "the Trop" and before long it was time to depart.

We got some ice cream, and then headed over to the bus.

The ride home was a little long, they watched a movie called The Guardian, but again, I slept. I listened to my iPod, and slept for a pretty good part of the trip. It was snowing a lot, so we were driving quite slowly. I forgot to charge my iPod, and so I had to turn off the backlight to conserve the battery.

We got back and Dan's dad dropped me off at home, and now I must get to bed!

Tomorrow is Monday! Ughhh.. and back to work. I think I'm gonna go in a little late just to catch up on my sleep from this weekend!

Alrighty, until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
