"bodies" or "rain and wind"

Hey Journal!

Well, Yesterday was a super-fun day in the city going to see Bodies!!

We had planned on this for a few weeks, and we were all very excited, so when we heard about the wind and torrential downpours in the forecast, we figured we'd brave them and it would be an adventure!

Dan, Kristen, and Lau met at my house at 10:00 and Lau drove us to the train station and we parked in the Parking Garage. We we headed over and bought our tickets and made a stop at Dunkin Donuts. Liz called me up and said she was there, and we met up and got on the train.

We had a fun train ride in, plenty of room, the train wasn't crowded at all, and we ate our bagels and orange juice that Kristen and Dan, respectively, brought.

Mike and Joe bailed out at the last minute, so they didn't join us. We met up with Patrick in Penn station, then went to the bathroom, and headed to the subway to go down to Bodies!! We took the 3 train to Fulton St, and then it was time to brave the elements. We had to walk about three blocks in the rain, but we all had umbrellas and we made there with no trouble!

We got our tickets and our free LIRR ticket, and then Dan called Bobby to see where he was. He was gonna take the ferry over and meet us. He had over slept, so he said he would meet up with us later!

So...we started, and the lady at the entrance was, as Bobby later described her, "the crypt keeper". She told us to turn off our phones and "don't touch the bodies!"

I knew what the Bodies exhibit was beforehand, but I really didn't know exactly what to expect. I really enjoyed it. They had so many interesting displays of all different parts of the body, it was very informative and interesting. As we learned, it's always good to read the information next to the exhibits, they answer lots of questions. lol

We made our way through the first few rooms, and they have one room with just the blood vessels and such. It was wild.

In the next room there was a thing about the lungs, and they showed completely blackened lungs of people who smoked! So crazy. I got a call from Bobby then, and we slowed down and all took a little rest in that room, and waited for him to catch up.

Then we went into the room with the babies, and then into the final room.

We spent a while in there... I think about 2 hours and 15 mins.. It was very interesting, and we all had a good time!

We were all ready for lunch, and we didn't want to go far because of the rain, so we went to a restaurant directly next door... Il Porto!

It was a pretty good place.. Our waitress was wild, and had a thick accent, she was a little strange though. My favorite part of lunch was when she came around to refill our drinks, and she filled up Liz's water, and then put water in my glass. I didn't even realize anything, but Liz says to me... "Didn't you have a Sprite?" And I burst out laughing!! I told the waitress, and she was like, "Ah.. that's funny."

After Lunch, we went over to the "Yankees" store for Lau, and then took a walk out on the Pier in the pouring rain!! It was fun, but very wet! We then went to Abercrombie to walk around for a bit and dry off. One thing I noticed about there, they had nicer clothes than they do in OUR Abercrombie in the mall, but the problem is, as always, they are WAY too expensive. I couldn't justify spending $80 on 1 shirt.

We then started to head up towards the subway, and we stopped to say bye to Bobby, who had to head back towards the ferry. Right after that, Dan turned around and his umbrella flipped inside out and broke in like three places!! It was hysterical!

We got up the the subway, pretty wet, and then back to Penn. Perfect timing, Patrick went right to his train, and we had to wait about 15 minutes!

We got on and headed home!

We got back to Ronkonkoma at about 7:40 and we drove Liz to her car, and then Lau dropped us off at my house.

It was such a fun day! I love doing things we don't usually do, and with a large group.

I went over to Dan's and we watched the series premier of that new show Drive on FOX. It was pretty good, but not the best. I want to know more about what's going on. We're gonna watch it again tonight!

Anyway, that was the day yesterday! A very fun time, and yes, pictures are already posted on Fojin! Go check em out!!

Adios for now. :)
