"biodome and garden" or "tim horton's"

Hey Journal!

This morning we woke up at about 9:30. We were hungry and went to the boulangerie (bakery) to get something to eat. We ate outside on the ltitle patio, and it was quite enjoyable.

We then walked to the Metro station, and took the train down to the stop for the BioDome and then Botanical Gardens. Jardin Botanique. We first went to the BioDome which was really cool. We got tickets, and went inside, and they have a whole "Tropical Forest" inside. It had all animals and trees and plants, and birds, all in this dome thing. THey also had a lot of fish exhibits, and a cool beaver and penguin area.

After exploring the Biodome, we went to the gardens. We walked around there, got a little something to eat, oh.. and at the garden, they have an Insectarium... a museum of insects! It was gross. LOL Lots of creepy crawlys, which I did not need to see!!

So then we explored more of the gardens, they have a whole area of Medical plants... plants with medical uses, then they have another section of poisonius plants! It's crqazy, the little plaques say that if you chew on this leaf for two seconds, you'll die in 2-5 hours. How nice! I said, parents better not let their kids wander off at this place! THe only plant that was semi-guarded was the poison ivy and the poisoned sumac.

So, this whole area is in the Olympic Center, which as the name suggests, was the site of the Olympics one year. So that was cool, to see the stadium and all of that, too.

We then went to the Mall and did some shopping. Dan got some shoes, and I wanted to get something, but I did not. Then we went back to the hotel to relax for a while.

We texted Fred, and he wanted to know if we wanted to get dinner with him. Charles had gone home, becuase Fred had work, and stuff to do on Monday. So, he told us to take the Metro and meet him at a specific stop, outside of the record store across the street. So, we went down to the Metro station by our hotel, and we didn't have any tickets. So, we went to the ticket window... but the guy who was supposed to the there, wasn't. So...we didn't know what to do!!! We just stood there for a little while.. then a girl came down and she saw us, and heard us saying, "What do we do?" So she said, "There's noone there? Just go!" And we looked at her, she she said... "Yeah, If they're not there.. you don't have to pay!!" So we figured, who are we to argue with the nice montreal girl. ANd we went! Later, we told Fred the story, and he said, "yeah, if they aren't there... it's free!! It's their responsibility to be there..and if they're not, you just go!" I like that mentality. In NY they'd probably chase you down!

Anyway, we went to a chinese restaurant with Fred. It was nice, the food was good. I got chicken and vegetables, but only at the chicken, and a few of the veggies that I like, such as broccoli. :)

Fred cleaned his plate. Dan and I had some leftovers. We texted Charlot to tell him that we were having dinner at "Fred's best restaurant" which he meant, his FAVORITE restaurant, and then Charles was jealous. We told Fred we wanted to go to the Casino, and he was tired after a long day, but he said he would come with us... so we planned to do that, but then Charlot asked if we could come visit him, cause he was at work. He lives/works abour 35 minutes from the city. So, we felt bad that he wanted to hang out and we wanted to see him again, so we went out to visit him. He had finished working, he works at Tim Horton's, which is like Dunkin Donuts, but we met at a DIFFERENT Tim Horton's location, which was closer to the highway. So, got some drinks (Dan got coffee, I got Hot CHocolate) and TimBits (whcih are like Munchkins)! THere's a funny story behind those... but I won't go into it now..

When we got there, I went to the abthroom, and I was just comihng out of the stall and over to the sink, and the door creaks open slowly... so I look... and this old woman, who worked there, pops her head in!! She said something in french... and I was confused.. and instinctivly said, "No" I don't know why... but the next thing I knew, she was in the bathroom doing something... perhaps checking to make sure it was clean, or whatever.. but it was quite random.

Oh, and one random note... Charlot heard on the radio while he was at work, that someone called in and said that you could see Mars tonight. THEN he heard later, that someone else called, and said that's impossible, and the only way you could see mars with the naked eye would be if it was gonna CRASH INTO EARTH. lol Se we figured Fred's email was a fake.

So, we consumed our TimBits, and hung out there for a while.

After that we departed. Fred was super exhausted, and we were tired, too. Charles went home, and Fred dropped us off at the hotel, and we said our goodbyes.. It was sad... I miss them so much already! They are the most fun, caring, cool people... you have no idea! But they promised they will come visit Long Island! I can't wait!!

Anyway, we leave tomorrow. Gonna try to shoot by the Casino before we leave... maybe win some dollars! I can't believe it's over... It flew by sooo fast!!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
