"vieux-montreal" or "mars?"

Hey Journal!

Yesterday was Sunday...we slept really late because we didnt get to bed until about 6am last night!! We got up at about 1:00, and got showered and dressed and ready for the day. We then went to be touristy and walk around Old Montreal. Vieux-Montreal. We walked down all the old streets, and Dan said it really reminded him of Europe.

We were getting hungry, and we stumbled upon a nice little Italian place that had an outside bistro area to sit at. A lot of the restaurants there had those sort of outside seating things, and they were really nice. Anyway, for lunch I got Chicken Parmesian and Dan got Linguine with Alfredo sauce. After lunch, we walked around by the port, and then Charles texted Dan and wanted to see if we wanted to go do something.

They said they would meet up with us in an hour. So, we walked around and saw this guy doing a show in the street. He had a large crowd gathered around him, and he juggled, wrode a large unicycle thing.. and he did other funny stuff, told jokes. At one point he ran into the road and pretended to pull a bus, and then a helicopter went overheaed, and he picked up a toy car remote control, and pretended to control it.... and it was really funny becuase it was so random, and he would drop whatever else he was doing, and do this random stuff. He also twirled fire.

So, soon after that, Fred and Charles arrived! Actually, when they arrived the guy was getting ready to put on anohter show...so we watched a his show again, though the second time wasn't as good as the first!!

We walked around some more, and we went into a book store and bought a French/English dictionary becuase there were some words we wanted to look up. Charlot (Charles's nickname.. Pronounched.. 'Sharl') bought the dictionary, and later on he wrote a message in the cover and gave it to us.

Anyway, we had to stop back at the hotel, and they wanted to see the pictures form the night before.. so we walked to Fred's car, and headed back that way, but on the way, Fred wanted to show us something. He said he was going to take us to a high point of Mont Royale where you can see the whole city... and when he said that, Charlot was like, "Nooo Nooo.. say no!" He didn't want to go because you have to walk up a ton of stairs, and he was being lazy! It was funny... but we went anyway!

It was St. Joseph's.... kinda of like a church, but also a very historical place. ANyway, lots of poeple come to this place and they KNEEL on each step along the way up, and they say a prayer at each step. It must take FOREVER to get to the top!!

Anyway, we walked up and by the time we got to the top, aside from ebing out of breath, there was a GREAT view of everything! We got some nice pics up there!

On the way back to the car, Dan had to piggy-back Charlot. lol When we got to the car, there was a big BUS parked directly behind us and we couldn't get out, so Fred and some security people moved this little fency thing so that we could get out the other way.

Then we weren't ready for dinner right away, so Charlot wanted to get fruit at this little fruit stand place. They had really good looking fruit, and Dan got a banana. (Banan) Fred got blueberries, and Charlot got strawberries. I was looking in the fridge, and there was a drink that looked citrusy, but it was all in french, but it SORTA resembled Five ALive...and so I got excited because I love Five Alive.. ANyway, I picked it up to examoine it further... and Sure enough, on the other side, in English, it said Five Alive!! I was so excited! :)

Oh, and on Saturday night at the bar, Charlot was telling me that he LOVES Celine Dion, and obviously I couldn't hold back my excitement about that... So today in the car we were blasting Celine and singing along. We also sang along to other random songs... so funny.

Then we went to a supermarket and bought some beer, and went back to the hotel to get the pics off my camera, becuase it was full.. and to show them the pics from the day before.

Dan, Fred, and Charlot, had a few beers, and we hung out in the room for a while.

Then, as Fred told us the night before... he wanted to go see Mars. He had gotten an email forwarded to him by someone, saying that last night, you could see Mars. So, we went to this park accross the Ste-Laurence river, and tried to see it, but we had no luck, and we didn't stay there very long. After that Fred showed us the Biosphere, which looks like Epcot without the paneling. Like, it's hollow, and just metal triangles.

We were planning on going to dinner earlier, but somehow it got pushed off so we finally went, and I was starving. We went to a diner, and I got a GAC. It was a strange place.. but interesting. Fred said, "Bad service, bad food, but everyone comes here."

We headed back to the Hotel and got to bed around 1:30.

And that, was Sunday in Montreal!! :)

We seriously are having such a fun time seeing all the cool stuff here, and randomly meeting Fred and Charles was the craziest thing, and has been so much fun! It's cool to see things here through their perspectives, too. They're the nicest, coolest people! It's so wild!

Anyway, back later with another update! Today we're going to the Biodome (not to be confused with the biosphere) and the Botanical Gardens.

Adios for now. :)
