"mets game" or "i am monitoring the radio"

Hey Journal!

Today I got up at 10:00 and got ready to go to the Mets game. Robby met me here around 11, and we were going to meet Dan at the Port Washington train station. He had to go to a funeral in the morning for someone he works with, so he planned to meet us there. On the way, we decided to meet at the park and ride, and just go from there.

So, we got to the train station a little before the time it was going to leave, and we had time to run over to the Chinese market and get some provisions for the game.

The train ride in went quickly, and we got there in the middle of the first inning. Lau was at the game too, apparently sitting across from where we were, but we never saw her! :(

The game was good, and a few fights even broke out in the crowd. lol It was sad, the Mets lost.. and they had an opportunity to come back, and it just didn't happen. Very upsetting.

So, on the way home, on the train, we stopped in Great Neck, and the lady got on the speaker and said, "BING-BONG. Ladies and Gentlemen.... We have to wait for another train to pass.. It's a single track ahead, so we'll be here for a little while. I don't anticipate it to be more than a few moments. I apologize for the delay." About 2 Minutes later. BING-BONG "Ladies and Gentlemen. There is a signal problem with the train ahead. It's going to have to move at reduced speed, which is about 15 MPH. We'll be here a few moments longer. I'm leaving the doors open if you want to step out and stretch. I apologize for the delay." A minute later... BING-BONG "Ladies and Gentlemen... I'm monitoring the radio, and it's going to be a few moments longer, the train is moving at reduced speed. I apologize for the delay." 10 Seconds later. BING-BONG "Ladies and Gentlemen... I am continuing to monitor the radio, and the train should be here in a few moments. I apologize for the delay." BING-BONG "Ladies and Gentlemen. If you step outside to smoke, please step completely off the train. Do not smoke in the doorway. We should be moving again in a few moments." This went on for a good ten minutes.. she kept updating us on how she was "monitoring the radio" and it was INSANE. We were HYSTERICAL laughing. It was so funny. Then she tells us "They want us to move up a few feet, and then WAIT. When we finally start moving, we will have to travel at reduced speed, which is 10-15 MPH."

Then we finally start moving, and don't stop to "wait" and she gets back on.. "Ladies and Gentlemen, The signal problem has been fixed, we are traveling at regular speed. I apologize for the delay." LOL It was ridiculous, but so funny. I loved how she KEPT saying, "Ladies and Gentlemen" and "I apologize for the delay." and "I am manning the radio." SO funny.

Anyway, we got back to Port Washington and headed home.

We planned on going out to dinner and then possibly hanging out with Re, but Dan fell asleep and I ate a chicken pot pie.

Now I'm just getting ready for bed... doing some Rosetta Stone.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
