"entertainment all around" or "un soixante-neuf"

Hey Journal!

Today I got up at about 10:00. I couldn't sleep any later for some reason, though I kinda wanted to.

We spent the morning straightening things up around here. Had a lot of random stuff to go through, and get rid of, like old newspapers, and all sorts of things like that.

At about 2:00 we departed and went over to Dan's house to do some much needed laundry washing. Dan brought quite a few loads over. We washed some Laundry and Dan watched TV while I went on the computer and did random things.

Then we went to Home Depot and got some stuff to air-tight seal our front door. It's this seal stuff that just sticks to the door frame and then the door presses up next to it nice and snug, and viola! you have no annoying air flow from the hall. You see, sometimes I think that just the slightest bit of smoke wanders over from the apartment across the hall, and that makes me unhappy. So now, all will be solved, however it is not solves yet, but you'll learn about that later.

So, we picked up these supplies and then went to Old Navy where we each got two shirts that were really nice and on clearance for 3.99 each.

Then we went to Dunkin Donuts, where I got a stale vanilla frosted doughnut, and although I asked for sprinkles, my doughnut had 1/2 a sprinkle on it. :(

Anyway, we got back to Dan's house and his mom and dad had arrived home from upstate, where they had gone this weekend for a wedding and to the casino.

So, they told us about the wedding, and then I went home because my mom wanted to bright a leftover dinner over for me. So I came back home so she could bring it over, and then Dan's mom took our orders for Chinese food and called Empire Ginger across the street, and I picked it up!

While I was waiting for my mom, and while I was waiting for the food, I cleaned off the door frame where the new seal was supposed to go, and I got it all ready, put the new on on the left side of the door, and then when I went to close the door, I realize that it wasn't going to work... It was too wide, and the door wouldn't close! Grrr! So I had to take it off. We'll have to get the smaller size tomorrow...

So anyway, I went over to get the Chinese food, and what an experience that was! I got in and there's one lady sitting on the side with a baby, and a little boy running around the store playing with a big bouncy ball thing (like they have in Target in those metal cages.) Anyway, I got up to the counter, and the lady who is ALWAYS wearing the same sweatsuit comes over and says, "You call?" I said Yes, she says, "TWO MINUTE!!" So I stand there for a bit, and then walk around outside, come back, and a man walks in behind me, goes over to the counter, "You call?" "Yes" "TWO MINUTE!" I laughed. So anyway, the kid is kicking the ball around, the woman is holding the baby and speaking to it in Chinese, and the sweatsuit lady behind the counter is running around putting all the food into the bag. So, the other man goes outside for some reason, and apparently his food is ready. She the sweatsuit lady tells the little boy, in Chinese, to go outside and get the man. He does. The guy comes in, and the lady says, "What kind of soda you like?" Looking confused, he says, "Did my wife order soda?" She says, "ON THE HOUSE!" He says, "Oh, Okay... Sprite." She looks at this giant refrigerator, stares into it for a few seconds, turns back and says, "How about iced tea?" The man says okay, and she proceeds to put two Cokes and one Iced Tea into the bag. Then when he pays, she whips a GIGANTIC WAD of money out and starts looking for his change. It was WILD. It was like a TV show. BETTER than watching a TV show. I love craziness like that. Maybe you had to be there to understand how compelling it was, but I was quite entertained.

So, I brought the food back to Dan's house, we consumed and watch a little of the baseball game, and then at 8:30, departed and came home.

I took a shower, and we then watched Desperate Housewives! It was a good episode tonight... lots of craziness going on.

Now it's time for bed. Dan already went to sleep cause he has work tomorrow. He doesn't get off for Columbus Day! BUT I DO! Woo! A day off!!! How exciting! I can't wait. I hope it's productive. I'm gonna try to get up early.

I just did some more Rosetta Stone lessons. I really feel like I'm learning a lot, but I feel like it's confusing in that I can't TELL how much I really know. I feel like I understand a lot, and this program is really good. I think it's really working. The one thing I need more of is sheer vocabulary words, but I hope they have more of them in the future. Also, I am learning the numbers up to 69 now! I can COUNT! Soon maybe I'll be about to count to 100, and I'll be at a kindergarten math level! lol

Anyway, that's all for tonight!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
