Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey Journal!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Wow!! Today was a crazy day!! I can't even believe how well it turned out, and how much work it was!

I'm in a rush to get to sleep, so I'll give you a quick rundown...

We got up at 6:00am to take the turkey out of the refrigerator! Then we went back to sleep till 8. We got up and started the craziness. We had to prepare the turkey with the special butter/herb thing we made and put the butter under the skin and all. We had a target time of 9:45 to have the turkey in the oven.

It took a while, but we did that, and then prepared a bed of celery and carrots for the turkey to lay in while it cooked, and which will flavor the broth for making the gravy.

We got the turkey in at 9:50! It needed to cook for 5.5 hours because it was 22 pounds!!! We were non-stop all day, preparing stuff, basting the turkey, setting stuff up.. craziness.

We did have a break for a little while somewhere in there where we watched some of the parade and looked through the circulars.

Dan's dad and Dziadzi arrived at about 3:30 and the Turkey came out of the oven then. We left it out for about 30 mins, and then Dan's dad carved it up. It turned out soooo great. The turkey was so juicy and tasted so great.

The most hectic times of the day were the morning, when getting the turkey ready, and the last 30 mins, when we had to make the stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans, corn, rolls, and Dan was making the gravy... all at the same time!

We got everything done, and it was a GREAT meal! :)

My mom stopped by a little later to taste a little turkey.

We had dessert and such, and basically the day flew by. It's so tiring and so much work goes into planning dinners.... but the really sad part is that it's over in like 30 minutes at the most. Everyone eats what it took you days to plan and a whole day to cook, and then it's over. LOL Kinda depressing! I like to make things and then get to enjoy the results for longer than that!! Although, with this 22 pound turkey we have a TON of leftovers, so we may be enjoying this for quite some time!

After they left we cleaned it... there was a LOT to clean. We had to run the dishwasher a couple of time, and there was a lot of cleaning and throwing stuff out. We went through 2.5 rolls of paper towel today. We brought the garbage out three times. It was wild.

Anyway, that was our wild Thanksgiving!! :) It was good, and I hope everyone else enjoyed their turkey day!!

Take a moment or five to be thankful today!

Now I must get to sleep to prepare for Black Friday shopping! FUN!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
