"molding" or "jen b's birthday brunch"

Hey Journal!

Well, I got up today at about 9:30 and Dan and I got ready for Jen B's birthday brunch! We made our way there as fast as possible, but still managed to be about 10 minutes late!

It was at the Old Country Buffet. I had never heard of this place, but apparently they have several locations, and it was pretty enjoyable!

We got in and we located Jen B, Kristen, and associates in the back of the restaurant! HB was there, too!!

Shortly after, Re and Brad arrived, and then we went for the food! :) It was pretty good, but my favorite was the ice cream for dessert. I really enjoyed the soft serve ice cream they had AND the crushed oreos on the top!

I think I must have worked up an appetite from all that painting yesterday!!

After the brunch, we had to go back to Home Depot and do the molding in the kitchen! We bought the molding, and cut it to the approximate size there, but the problem was, we didn't know how to cut it at the 45 degree angles!

I called my grandpa, and sure enough, he had a miter box, so I went over there with the molding, and cut it at the correct angles! It came out really good! My grandpa held the pieces while I sawed, however the saw wasn't as sharp as it could have been... and it took a while to get through the pieces! lol My hands were all red after! But then, some pieces were cut in like 30 seconds, and others took like 2 minutes, which I didn't understand.

Also, It was SOOO hot and humid out, and I was sweating like a beast!

Anyway, I headed home and we put up the molding! It took a while to get it where we needed it, but in the end it came out really good! We had to run to the hardware store around the corner to get some wood filler to fill in the little nail marks and such, and we got that... and then let it dry, and put on the first coat of white.

I also re-caulked the bathtub.. and then we had to depart for Volleyball! Okay, we played the most insane and intense team ever today. They were so coordinated, they would do the whole bump-set-spike thing, and even when the ball was about to go out, they would dive for it randomly, hit it, and it would be perfect. It was sickening! lol Despite that, however, our team really put up a good fight! The McSpikesters lost all three games, BUT the second and third game the other team had to really do some work to win. Oh well! At least it was only a three game night! Next week we really need to play one of the zero teams! Grrr!

Anyway, after that we had to hurry back home to paint some more! We had used a little more wood filler, and needed to put one more coat of white paint on! Then we removed the tape, and it looked great! We have to touch up a few areas with the green paint, but that's for tomorrow after work!

SOO... Now we needed to take showers, but we couldn't since the new caulk wasn't dry, so we went over to Dan's parent's house and took showers there!

Now, we must get to bed!! The theme of this upcoming week is cleaning up after our paint and molding craziness!

Goodnight. :)
