"the san fransisco treat"

Saturday, August 30

Hey Journal!

On Saturday morning, we woke up and took showers, got ready, and went out to see the sights of San Francisco. Our first move was to drive around a little and find the houses that were used as the exteriors of Full House and Mrs. Doubtfire. We found them! At the Full House one, there was a family coming out of the front door! How crazy it must be to live there!

Anyway, we then headed over to the Golden Gate bridge! The parking lots there were completely full, but we lucked out and found someone leaving. It was pretty cold in SF, and at the bridge it was even colder and windy! We walked halfway across the bridge, and got some good pictures, and then turned around and went back. The bridge is apparently 1.7 miles long! That's a long walk, so we only did half!

After that we walked down to something called "Fort Point" which is an old fort located at the base of the bridge. It was interesting, but we didn't spend too much time down there.

Then we drove down to an area by Fisherman's Wharf, and walked around there for a while, we got some snacks at a Safeway supermarket, and then went to check out the Alcatraz tours. We already had looked online and it said that they were sold out for the whole weekend, which was pretty sad, but still we wanted to check it out. You could see the island from the bridge, and from the Wharf, and it looks really cool... unfortunately they were indeed sold out, and so we didn't get to do that.

We drove around some more, drove down Lombard Street, which is apparently the crookedest street. It was crazy, it zig zags down the crazy hills. Then we found some parking. and walked around some more, and finally headed back to the hotel.

I took a shower and we decided to go to dinner at a restaurant in Palo Alto (25 mins away) called Bucco di Beppo. We drove there, and Palo Alto was really nice. It was a fancy looking town, with lots of stores up and down the main street of the town. The restaurant we went to was REALLY good. Our waiter was nice, but a little bit aloof (for example, he forgot to bring us bread, and remembered halfway though the meal. He also took forever with our drinks.... but he was really nice lol) Anyway, the food was GREAT. We got a plate of a bunch of different things like Ravioli, Stuffed Shells, Manicotti, and something else. My absolute favorite was the Stuffed Shells... they were stuffed with chicken sausage. It was sooo soo good!

Anyway, after dinner we walked around the town and then drove down the street where we found the headquarters of Facebook! It was a little office building thing, with a few floors, and on the first floor was a big facebook logo, and a security guard sitting at a desk. lol

Anyway, we headed back to the hotel, and went right to bed because we had to get up at 3:30am to drive back to Burbank for our flight!!

More soon...
