"fun times in dc with jro"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at around 3:45am, and got ready to go. We were running a little behind, and didn't depart until 4:18. We stopped before getting on the expressway at Dunkin Donuts. Then headed off.

We made great time, and I slept a little on the way. Everything was perfect until the last 5 miles. We were like 5 miles away from the hotel, and we hit BAD traffic. It was grueling. But, even with that, we got there at about 8:50.

We got all settled in the hotel, and then met up with JRo and his mom. We took the shuttle to the Metro, and the Metro to DC.

We had breakfast at the Corner Bakery, and then walked over by the Washington Monument, and headed to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, to get tickets for their tour. The tickets were for 6:00, so we had to come back later.

We went to the American History museum, and then to the National Portrait Gallery.

Then we headed back to the BEP for the tour. The tour was good, but it wasn't the best. We got to see them printing money... which was interesting. It's crazy... we probably saw over 2 billion dollars of ten dollar bills. I mean... Can you imagine. What a depressing tour! Not even a free sample! The guys who worked there, especially these two at the end, one white haired guy was really funny... he had signs, and was holding them up for us to see through the glass.

They print more money in a minute than they make in their entire life! Working there must be torture!

I wish there had been a little more to the tour, maybe a little more about the process.. but it was a good tour, just a little short.

Then we headed back to the hotel, and Dan and I took a nap. We just got up and showered and stuff... We're going to go out to a bar in DC tonight... should be fun! I will be back tomorrow with an update!
