"final break" or "chicken pot pie"

Hey Journal!

This morning I got up around 10:30 and we watched some TV. We watched one of the Netflix movies we had, the "lost" episode of Prison Break called the "Final Break." It was good, but I was a little confused. I feel like it was weird that even if these episode had gotten aired as part of the show, it would have been so odd to start this whole random story line, and introduce all these new characters JUST for the last episodes?? It's strange. During the show I kept thinking that it was some kind of "made up" events going on... but then I'd be like.. No.. this is actually part of the show.. they shot this with the intention of it being PART of the show. I also don't understand why Sarah would have been charged for killing that woman when EVERYONE got a free pass on all the stuff they had done while running from the company. Why wouldn't that have been included. It makes no sense.

Oh well, I guess that mean I am now officially done with Prison Break. It was a good show while it lasted, but it was definitely time for it to go.

We hung around the house for a while, and then decided to get out for a bit and go to the mall. We wandered around... the good Gilly guy was there! Too bad he wasn't there YESTERDAY! Geez! After two laps around, we left, and then went over to TCBY for Dan to get a snack.

For dinner, we were supposed to go to Gasho, but the plans got pushed off, so we decided to make a Chicken Pot Pie instead and invited Kristen and Don over for a feast. Dan and I went to Shop Rite and got the ingredients. We used the handicapped shopping cart that attaches to a wheelchair. It was actually quite convenient! Dan talked to the girl at the register about the bitchy supervise lady there. She agreed that she was a beast, and confirmed that she has no redeeming qualities. Her name is Rose, btw.

We got home at about 5:00 and started preparing the Pot Pie! Everyone loves "Another Chicken Pot Pie!" (The original from the CD Kitchen website.)

Kristen and Don arrived at 6:05, just as Dan and I were about to put the insides into the pies. We did that, and then put them in the oven! While waiting, Kristen and Don played some Mario. Unfortunately they didn't have their controllers with them, either... so we STILL haven't been able to try this game in 3 or 4 player mode!

They brought over some cookies from Uncle G's for dessert... Assorted Butter Cookies. (Mixed) and a special treat of GINGERBREAD SOAP straight from Wegmann's!! WOOOO! I am so happy to have the famous Gingerbread soap again this holiday season! :)

The pot pies (we made two) took about 40 minutes to cook, and then we all gathered around our infrequently used kitchen table for a very nice meal! It turned out really good.. and I even put a happy face on one. This time we modified the recipe just a little by adding CORN in with the peas and carrots! I put much less corn than peas and carrots, and I think it was just right. It added a little something to it. I remember the first time we made it at Re's house, we wanted to add potatoes, but forgot all about them! haha

After dinner, we played two rounds of the DVD game "Match Game" which is basically just the TV show, cut up, and some images and audio are taken from the old games. It's alright.. not terrible, but the worst part about it is that it takes soooo long to play because of the limitations of it being a DVD.

After that we played some more Mario, and then had our dessert. Did you ever notice how some butter cookies, if you try to break them in half, they turn into sand!? It's really quite crazy!

Anyway, it's about time for bed... I'm pretty tired for some reason! This long weekend has been great so far, but It's quite sad that tomorrow is the last day!

Goodnight. :)
