"dickens festival" or "breakfast & lunch with santa" or "gorillas on a bike"

Hey Journal!

Happy Dickens Christmas to You!

Okay, I don't really know what that means! lol We got up this morning at 9:00.. (what a way to ruin a weekend) and went to work for Breakfast and Lunch with Santa!

It was pretty much like every other year... this year we had two different Santas! In the morning, Jackie's father-in-law played Santa, and in the afternoon, Freddy from the kitchen did it!

The kids seemed to have a good time, and enjoy! After the first round of photos, Dan and I had some of the breakfast. We had pancakes, and sausage, and all that good stuff.

Then we went to work getting all the photos printed out. We got them on the computer, and then went to Staples to buy photo paper, because the paper I got last week wasn't the best photo paper.

So, we got back and printed, cut them out, put them in the cards, and got them ready to mail tomorrow! Then it was time to get ready for the second round. Before taking the pictures, I had some Spaghetti from the pasta station. Actually, it was Linguini with meat sauce. It was quite enjoyable.

In between, Jackie got scratched by a cat that was in the parking lot or something, and she tried to catch it, and put it in a little cage thing... and it ripped her hands up, and she was bleeding everywhere! It was crazy! Gross cat.

Anyway, we took pictures for the second group, and then we departed. Tomorrow I'm gonna do all the printing and sending out.

We wanted to go to the Dickens Festival in Port Jeff and/or the Stony Brook Village tree lighting thing. On the way, we were reading that there were LIVE REINDEER at Port Jeff till 4, and it was about 3:30, so we had to hurry to see them! lol It was a little hard to find a parking spot, but we got one on a side road, and it wasn't so bad.

We walked around for a while, and at first it was SOOO SOO COLD! I forgot my warm hat, and only had my elf hat! And I'm still not completely over this cold, so I hope this doesn't make it worse.. I'm really ready to be over this cold!

So we walked around, saw the reindeer, went to the village center and watched people ice skate out the window. We went to the age restricted 2nd floor. (No one under the page of 18 permitted without supervision on the 2nd floor).

Then we went to see the "New Century Singers" at the First Presbyterian Church. Woah. We got in and sat down, and they sang these SLOW songs in latin. It was soooo boring. Then when they finally started singing regular Christmas songs, they were so slow and blah. We were trapped though, and couldn't get out!! We finally made our escape after a song, while everyone was clapping!

I almost forgot my gloves! Luckily, Dan saw them and grabbed them for me... It woulda been so bad to have to go back in to get them!

We went to some stores, then to the Gap. Then... we went to a restaurant where Scott got some sort of seafood soup, and then we walked around some more....then back to the store, where we ran into Steve's mom. Apparently everyone in the store found it quite crazy that our names were Brian and Dan, because the woman's husband is named Dan and they have a son named Brian! lol

Then we went outside for the parade, which was the strangest parade ever! They people and the things in it were just so RANDOM and WEIRD! But it was great.. just crazy!

There were giant ghosts from the Christmas Carol, and Santa was riding in a ferry surrounded by bubbles and he was throwing sand out of a bag at small children on the side of the road. It was so crazy! Then this car was coming down the road, and a woman was walking in front of it with ONE SINGLE tiny light bulb. It was so odd. LOL

Then we went down to the Village Hall where they did the tree lighting! Steve's mom, dad, and sister were there. It was nice meeting them.

After the tree lighting it was getting cold again, so we hurried off to the car and headed off to Century 21!!

We went to Century 21 and perused the goods there. There were these CRAZY pants that were regularly $1,800 YES... Just a TAD expensive, but they were on sale for $625 i think. They were soooo odd. They had wires in them to keep them wrinkly, and then these wires all over them that made them look like they were wired to explode! lol It was so weird. So we decided we should try 'em on. I got a crazy ridiculous shirt and jacket to go with it! It's funny though, as weird and crazy as it was, I think the outfit worked. I think that's how people get away with wearing such odd stuff... they have to make an outfit out of it that just looks like it was meant to be.

We walked around there some more, then after that went to Chipotle for a quick dinner! I got my steak line item!

Then we brought Scott home, and headed back. I just took a shower, and got ready for bed, and Dan and I are gonna be crazy and stay up a little later to watch tonight's Desperate Housewives tonight!

Work tomorrow... gonna be a good day though, I think.....We're closed and so it'll be a quiet yet productive day!!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
