"triplet communion"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up around 9:00ish, and started getting ready for the triplets' Communion!

Dan went out for his walk, and I took a shower, and started getting dressed. Just before we left, Kristen stopped by to pick up the card she had purchased last night at Walgreen's, but had left in the back of Dan's car! Then we were off!

We stopped to get bagels on the way, ate in the car when we got there, and met up with my mom, who pretended to get something out of the back of her car, with the door open, to discourage others from parking next to her, to save a spot for us! haha! Well, it worked!

We went inside, and got a seat. The communion part at the church was kinda weird. I mean, first off... the sound was bad, and you could barely hear what the priest was saying. Then there was this CRAZY woman who I called "Mother Superior." She was running around Shhhh-ing people! In fact, my mom was telling me a story, and she got shushed!! Insane! (I got back at her. When she was in the back of the church telling something something, I shushed her! :P )

The songs were so dull and boring, and when the kids went up to get their communion, you couldn't see a thing. It was completely a non-event for the spectators, in the sense that you didn't even get to watch them do anything, there was a crowd of other kids behind them making a line to the front, and then the parents standing in the line blocked out the kids who were up at the front receiving... so it was pretty much nothing to be seen.

Christen sat in our row, and my Grandma and the rest of the fam sat about five rows ahead of us.

Afterwards, we took pictures in the lobby of the kids with their banners, and with the priest, and in front of the statue of Jesus, which Dan said looked more like Socrates.

The luncheon was at the Country House in Stony Brook. It looked like a nice place, and the food was good, but boy were we packed in like sardines! Our table had 3 more people seated at it than actually should have been at the table. Also, all three tables of our party were so close you could barely get up and walk between them, which made for a very ahrd time for the waiters and waitresses to get by! In fact, at dessert, the waitress wiped cake into this one lady's hair! It was all over the back of her head! (Ok.. it was slightly funny!)

There was a really creepy statue in the abthroom. As you went in and turned the corner, I gasped! It was shocking. Back at the table, we discussed possible names for him. Eduardo was the winner.

We had a fun time at our table.... clearly, our table was the fun table! Christen got "strawberry soup" for her appetizer, it was cold, and was clearly a strawberry smoothie in a bowl. Very odd. I got the Fillet Mignon for dinner, it was pretty good, and came with Excellent mashed potatoes! Dessert was good, it was a combination.. two pieces of cake, a brownie, and some ice cream.

When we departed, we went over to the Grist Mill and to "AVALON"! My mom told me she used to take me there when I was little, and I was shocked because I thought I had never been there before when we went there with Scott a few months ago.

We came home, and then Dan and I went over to Aunt Janice's house. We hung out with David and Gabriel in the backyard, and also in the basement. Grandma got Gabriel a book that came with wooden animals that you have to place into the story where they belong, and when we got to the page with the animals on the backs of trucks, David said that were going to the slaughterhouse, and he was like "Pork!" "Lamb!" It was great!

Then my Grandma invited everyone back over, and so we went over there! The after, after party. She decided we should get pizza, so Dan and I went to pick it up. They ordered from Patio, so we had to schlep over the St. James!

It was fun, the hung out, and everyone talked and had a good time. Then Dan and I left around 8:00 and headed home.

We were exhausted... it seemed like it was 2am! We watched a few episodes of 30 Rock, and now we're pretty much ready for bed!

It was s fun and tiring day! Hopefully some fun tomorrow!

Goodnight. :)
