"memorial day picnic"

Hey Journal!

Happy Memorial Day!

Well, our vacation is officially over! We had a GREAT time in London and Paris. (London was my favorite! I miss it already!) It's a little sad to return to work tomorrow, but other than that.... I'm not so sad to be home. We were gone a pretty long time!

As you may have seen in my last entry, I got up pretty early this morning.. around 8am. The whole time-zone changing really is weird!

When I got up, we hung around, had some breakfast, and got the pictures and videos off my camera! The videos are really great!

After that, we got ready for our Memorial Day Picnic!! Re came over at 12:30, and we went out to Shop Rite to get some supplies. We decided against doing a BBQ since the attendance was looking kinda small this year. We figured we'd just go to the deli and get some individual sandwiches.

We also went for our old traditional picnic snack.... PFR! We got a quart to share! :)

So, we got to Callahan's beach, and much to our surprise, and unlike any other picnics we have had there, the place was PACKED! Every picnic table was occupied, and there were tons of campers! Tents everywhere! Who knew this was the popular place to be!

We found a shady spot near the hill, and sat in the grass and ate our little feast. Shortly after, Kristen and Don arrived! We hung out for a while, talking and such, and then decided to take a walk on the beach. Yes, a "long walk on the beach!"

As we were walking, Scott arrived! Don't ask me how he found us down there, but he did!

We walked pretty far, almost to Sunken Meadow, and then we turned around and came back! We sat at a recently vacated picnic table, had some more snacks, and then departed.

Kristen and Don went home, and Dan, Kristen, Scott and I went to Tropical Smoothie.

After that, we brought Scott back to his car which was parked on a street near the park, and then we came home.

I worked on getting some of the videos and photos organized from our trip, and we got our clothes sorted out, and started to put some stuff away! Getting back from vacation is always so stressful! Getting back into the swing of things at home takes a while!

Alas, now it's time for bed! First day back to work tomorrow... that's the one thing I am really dreading!

Oh well...
