July 04, 2010 - 11:29 p.m. Hey Journal! Happy 4th of July!! :) This morning we got up around 10:30 and started the day off with breakfast at IHOP! My mom wanted to take us there for a celebratory breakfast! It was quite enjoyable, and afterwards, Dan drove to pick up his mom and dad from a hotel they had stayed at last night for a wedding they went to. We came back home for a bit, and then went over to go in the pool. It was pretty hot out, but unfortunately the pool was shady, and I never could work up enough courage to get completely submerged. We were pretty hungry for lunch when we got out of the pool, and unlike the majority of Americans on the 4th, we didn't have a barbecue to attend. :( Instead, we went to Boston Market, and took advantage of their 4.99 chicken meal. The place was pretty empty, except for a little old lady, eating all alone. I wanted to know her story. When we got back home, we hung around for a while, and tried to come up with something to do for the evening. Nothing really materialized, and we wound up going for a walk in the park, and then to Dan's parent's street. The street around the corner from them always has their block party on the 4th, and they have some insane fireworks. We figured we'd get a good show there! Sure enough, it was great! The fireworks were insane! I swear, they were even better than the ones at the fair last night! They must cost a fortune! They kept bringing out these huge boxes... and they were really professional! We got home, and watched some TV....and now it's time for bed! Hope everyone had a fun Independence Day!! Goodnight. :)
