"mets game" or "lotus east"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 9:30 and got ready for the Mets game! Our first order of business was to get bagels, and then we met Re for the game. We stopped at Waldbaums and redeemed some bottles, and then we went to the golf course to drop off a cooler we had borrowed!

After that, we were off to the game!

It was a really nice day for a baseball game! It wasn't too hot, it wasn't to cool, it was perfect! They forecast said there was a possibility of thundershowers, but they never came. For about 10 minutes before the game started, it drizzled a very little bit, but never actually rained. The sun was never really out, it was pretty cloudy, but it was perfect that way!

Before the game, they did a "Hall of Fame" ceremony and inducted Darryl Strawberry, and some other old players. Re made a good point, though... if these were the people they inducted, and these are the most famous players we've ever heard of, and they do this every year.....WHO the heck got inducted last year... and the year before!?

So... as the game was going on... I heard this crazy voice coming from a few rows behind us! It sounded JUST like Ferrall from Howard 101. Now, I have never actually listened to his show, but I always hear his commercials during Howard's show... and he has a very distinct voice! As the game went on, I was SURE it was him!

He was yelling crazy stuff like, "The breeze is better than this game!" and "At least there's beer here!"

That, of course, was because the Mets lost HORRIBLY! They lost 13 to 1! Pathetic!

Fred says of all the baseball games he's gone to, the team he roots for always has lost.

After the game, we walked over to the Unisphere, and much to our surprise, they had the fountain on! How amazing! The sign said that they are working to restore it! I LOVE it! I had always wondered why it wasn't used. I was looking up at it, and the water, and trying to imagine that I was there at the 1964 World's Fair!

We headed back home, and went directly to Lotus East for dinner! We had our favorite waiter, and even though our regular table was empty, Dan chose a different one, since there was someone sitting right next to our usual table.

Our meal was good....Fred got the "Lover's Potion," but I think he actually was given the "Scorpion Bowl" instead! lol He enjoyed it though! The food was great, as always there... and Fred was in rare form, showing us Canadian money... and "the bitch!"

When we got home, he danced to Elvis, and then I got ready for bed, and we played a game oh Yahtzee!

I am heading off to bed now, and he and Dan are still up talking, and a game!

Back to work tomorrow... the weekend went by way too fast!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
