"fire and ice" or "day of adventure"

Hey Journal!

Today was another fun day of adventure! We got up around 10:30, and had plans to go out to breakfast with Re. She came over at 11:15, and we went to Sweet Mama's in Northport.

I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, and I really wanted a small amount of French toast, and some eggs... but there didn't seem to be any french toast combination with eggs. :( The only one that did, had eggs, french toast, pancakes, sausage, bacon, hash browns! Too much! Anyway, I settled on just pancakes. They were good, and very filling. I got lemonade to drink, and it was REALLY good lemonade. My one complaint was that everything seemed to be a bit overpriced.

I know we had just finished eating breakfast, but I was already planning for dinner. I suggested that we got to Fire and Ice up in Nyack for dinner! Dan and Re were up for it, so off we went. Our original plan was to head up that way, find something to do there during the day, and then go to Fire & Ice for dinner. When we crossed into New Jersey, I couldn't resist looking up the nearest Sonic! It was only 13 minutes away, and we all agreed it would be crazy not to stop there!

First we stopped at a mall where Dan and Re went to the bathroom, and then we went to Sonic. It wasn't as packed as last time.. and there were no police there to direct traffic. We didn't want to fill up on Sonic, so we just got a snack there. I got two Slushes (cause they were half price for Happy Hour!) and some tots. Dan and Re got Mozzerella sticks, and slushes!

It was a wonderful experience. I can't wait till this place comes to Long Island!!

After that, we headed up the Palisades Parkway to make our way towards the mall. We stopped at the overlook of the Hudson to check out the view, and then went to a park in Nycak called the Rockland Lake State Park. It was a little bit of a strange park. It had all concession stands and other things around the lake, but noone was there, and the parking lots were dilapidated... it was weird. There was a path going around the lake, and we decided to walk it. It turned out to be a three mile walk... but after spending the whole day in the car, I was happy that we got to get out and stretch our legs, be in the fresh air... it was a good time.

When we were done with out walk, we headed to the mall. Kristen had texted Lauren, since she lives right near there, to see if she wanted to meet us for dinner. She did, but she was out at a shower, and needed a little time to get back, and head over. We weren't hungry yet, so it worked out perfectly. We walked around all the levels of the mall, and I looked for "some new threads" but didn't find any.

After we were done, we took a seat on a bench just outside of Fire and Ice to wait for Lauren! Our legs were so tired! Mine hurt from all that walking! We watched as kids paid $5 to sing a song in the "Mall Talent" booth! It was actually some good entertainment. The woman standing the right of us had GIANT boobs and elf boots.

When Lauren arrived, we headed in to the restaurant, and I was just starting to feel hungry. Lauren had never been there before, so she was quite surprised when we got up from the table. Our waiter, Phil, gave her the grand tour, and even pointed out items that weren't really there.

I LOVE First and Ice. My food was great. I went up for two trips.

When it was time to leave, he brought out check over, but the check presenter book was empty! haha. Apparently he forgot to put the bill inside.

Then we went to Target, and it closed while we were in there, so we had to exit from a different place than we had entered from, and then made our way back inside the mall to find where we had parked.

We headed home, and made excellent time. We were all pretty tired, it was a full day! I had a lot of fun... I'm glad we made the most of this last week of "Summer."

I just had a little snack before bed...and watched some of the news which was on late tonight. Now it's time to call it a night! I'm exhausted!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
