"snowed in" or "snowpocalypse 2010"

Hey Journal!

Well, today, the blizzard that they have been talking about on the news ARRIVED! We got up around 10:30 and it was already starting to snow. It was coming down pretty lightly. We hung around the house for a bit, watched some TV, and then decided to get out of the house before the real blizzard picked up-- At least we got a chance to get OUT of the house, and not be trapped inside all day long!

We went out to the mall, and then to Target. We were supposed to bring something to return at the mall, but we forgot it at home. :( The mall was pretty busy despite the snow, and Target was packed with people stocking up on food! We needed to get some milk, and there wasn't a single bottle of 1% left! Sadness! We got a few random things, and some clearance Christmas balls, and then we headed home.

We stopped at ShopRite on the way, and found our milk! Woo Hoo! We also got spicy sausage and pasta for dinner tomorrow night!

Dan watched the football game, and I went online to pay some bills that had been collecting for the past few weeks. We were so busy with Christmas, I just never got around the paying them! :P None of them were past due or anything, I just wasn't in the bill paying mood. So... I figured today would be a good day to catch up.

We were looking at the Christmas tree, and it really hadn't been drinking at all the past few days. A lot of the needles were falling off, so we decided to take it down today! I know it's ONLY the day after Christmas, and usually that's unheard of... but we were stuck inside with nothing to do, and the longer we waited, the more of a mess it would have made with the needles!

We took off all the decorations, and wrapped up the lights, and then trimmed some of the bigger branches that were sticking out. The mess of pine needles was INSANE!

We waited until it got dark, and Dan carried the tree outside, and launched it over the fence! :P We figured it would be the perfect time because the snow would cover the tree, and all of the needles that fell while he was carrying it out would be covered up or blown away! From carrying it out, there were needles EVERYWHERE. The whole vacuum bag must be full to the brim with them!

After that, we just hung out, watched TV, and then I took a shower. For dinner, I had some leftover Cheesecake Factory from the other day.

The wind was whipping all night, and from our window, you could see the snow blowing all over the place in every direction! It was wild! It was coming down hard, and the roads looked really bad. They came by at about 10:30 with snow blowers to do our sidewalks here, but we weren't going anywhere, anyway... so it was no big deal.

We watched The Sound of Music on ABC. I was thinking... I really have never seen the whole movie from start to finish! Most times, I start watching in the middle, and see it through to the end, or just for a couple of minutes. Today was a middle to end day. In fact, I can't remember how long ago it was since I've seen the beginning, and I don't really remember what happens at all!

I did, however, catch two of my favorite parts tonight... the "Gloomy Pussies," and "Mother Superior, I have sinned."

While we were watching, it was pretty bad outside, and about three times, the electricity flashed on and off. It wasn't enough to knock out the Tivo, but the TV and lights turned off and then back on. I kept expecting the power to go out completely!

After the movie, we watched the news, and now we're going to head to bed.

I wound out earlier that we will definitely be closed tomorrow, and I will not be going to work! Woo Hoo! Way to have a four-day weekend for Christmas! It was a really nice weekend, and today was fun, even if we were inside most of the day. Sometimes it's nice to have a day where you know you can't do anything else, and everyone else is stuck at their houses, and you just relax and have a nice day!

Tomorrow, I'm not looking forward to the mess of snow and the crappy roads, but hopefully they will be cleared up by the time we get up and ready to go anywhere!

Hope everyone else had a fun blizzard day!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
