"london flights" or "iberia, siberia"

Hey Journal!

This morning I got to work and it was a pretty slow morning, unfortunately, it got pretty crazy towards the end of the day. Today was payroll day, and so I called that in, and I am hoping that for the first time we will have no problems at all, and everything will come back correctly tomorrow!

In the afternoon, we sent out an e-mail to the members from the Superintendent, and then I went to get gas in my car.

I departed at 5 and headed home. We watched the news, and then at about 7:00, Dan and I went online to book our flights to London in May!

Last night when we looked up flights, we found the ones that we wanted on American Airlines for $690. It was a little more than we had paid last year, but not too much. We made our decision, and then planned to go to work today and make sure everything was okay, then come back tonight and book it! So, we looked up our flights again, and TODAY they ere $720! Insanity! So, we were pretty annoyed that our trip just went up by $60, but we decided to buy our tickets before it went up any further! We looked online for promo codes because we had one last year, and saved 10%! We looked for about 20 minutes or so, and unfortunately we couldn't find anything. :(

We went in to book at $720, and NOW it was $785!! We were do pissed and disgusted that we decided to completely forget it.

I took a shower, and we watched The Middle, and then just before I started getting ready for bed, I decided to look one more time. On Kayak, these Iberia Airlines flights kept coming up, and they had always been about $650, but we were ignoring them because we had never heard of Iberia before! I finally started to get desperate, and decided to check them out.

Apparently, Iberia is a Spanish Airline, so Dan texted someone he knows from work who has family in Spain, and asked if they had any experience with this airline. He said he had flown it a few times, and that it was fine. So, we started looking into it. When it came time to pick our flights, we knew what times we had wanted on American, so we looked for similar times here.

We actually found the EXACT same times, which seemed like too much of a coincidence... and then we looked at plane types, because we wanted both 777's so that they would all have TV's at the seats!

As we continued to booking, we noticed that the Iberia flights that we were buying on the Iberia website said "Operated by American Airlines"!!!!! SO-- It turns out that the Iberia flights we purchased were actually for the SAME EXACT flights that we wanted on American to begin with!!

I am SOOOO happy that not only did we NOT buy the tickets yesterday, but also that we gave up when the price jumped because we wound up paying the least of all by going with Iberia!!!

It's so weird how it all works, that Iberia, AA, and British Airways all sell the same exact tickets, but all for different prices!

So, we got our tickets, and now we're all set for LONDON in MAY!! :) :) :) I can't WAIT! Too bad it's so far away!

It's crazy late now, and I have to get to bed... I'm just so excited that we got a good deal and didn't get tricked by the AA website!

Yay for Friday tomorrow!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
