Hey Journal!!

Today was a crazy busy day! We packed a lot of excitement into one Saturday!

We woke up around 10:00, and got ready for our day. I had a bowl of cereal, and then we headed off to the city for the day! We parked at a parking garage we found online for only $12, and then we met our friend Dan near the big red steps in Times Square. We decided to go down and see the Statue of Liberty, so we started heading that way.

It was a lot colder than I thought it was, so we went back to the car to get my scarf and hat. I'm very happy we did, cause I really needed them!!

We went to the Subway and waited for the 1,2,3 trains, but none of them came! We waited a while, and there were lots of people there. Finally, we gave up and went to the ACE and headed downtown. We got off at Chambers Street and walked the rest of the way down to Battery Park. (We may have taken the long way.) We got tickets for the ferry, and then headed over to Liberty Island!

We walked around the statue, and then went to into the pedestal! It was pretty cool! I had never been inside there before! I still would like to go to the crown, but perhaps another time! Inside, they had a small museum with stuff about the statue, and then you walked up about 140 steps to get to the base of the statue, where you could walk outside. Up there, you could also look up and see the inside.

It was pretty cool to be inside, I can't imagine walking up all those steps though to get to the crown, and even MORE steps to get to the torch... although they don't let you up there!

While we were on the ferry, on the island, and in the pedestal, and on the way back, there were a group of Navy boys who were everywhere we went.

We got on the ferry and decided to skip Ellis Island, and we headed back to NYC. We took the 1 train back to Times Square, and then we went to the parking garage to get our car. We decided to drive out to Long Island for dinner, and we were going to go to the Cheesecake Factory, but there was a long wait, so we went to Houlihan's instead!

After dinner, we went by the golf course, and then we headed back to NYC! We dropped Dan off in front of his hotel, and then we headed home. There wasn't any traffic on the way home, which was nice!

We got home around 10:15, and then we relaxed for a bit, and met Nicholas at the bowling alley at 11:30! We bowled three games, and it was a fun time! My best game was my first game... I got a 119!

Our lane, #13, broke halfway through the second game! It was crazy! It just shut down and died. The "mechanic" came over and was fishing around inside for a while, but then they switched us over to lane 14.

I can't remember the last time we went bowling! Perhaps I could look it up here in my journal! But it has to have been a while ago!

WOW-- I just looked it up, and the last time I wrote about going bowling was March 9, 2008 when Dan and I went to Montreal and did MiniBowling! The time before that, the last time we played real bowling, was February 10, 2008! Over three years!

We had a fun time, and we left around 1:30. We're home now, and just about to head off to bed! I'm super tired!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
