"the silver pheasant" or "dr. phibus rises again"

Hey Journal!

This morning, I got up around 10:00, and watch a little TV.  Dan got up got ready to go golfing with his dad.  Shortly after he left, I went out with my mom to the bank to help her open a new bank account.  She wanted to switch banks, because currently she has the most ghetto bank ever!!

We sat with the lady and got everything all set up, and then we went to go over to the ATM to make the initial deposit.  The bank lady came with us to show my mom how to do it.  A second before we got to the lobby, this mother and son arrived, and were trying to deposit some cash into the machine.  They had NO idea what they were doing, and kept pressing the wrong button!  Three times, they canceled their transaction and the money had to be returned to them, and FINALLY the bank lady asked them if they needed help!  (Boy did they ever!)

After we left the bank, we were going to go out to Ikea to return/exchange the little shelf thing that Dan and I purchased for near our front door, across from the shoes.  It's replacing that little "telephone table" that we've had there for the longest time.

As we started to make our way toward Ikea, we were passing by Dan's parents' street.  I had planned on stopping by some time today to install their Tivo wireless adapter which they had purchased from Amazon, so I called to see if it would be a good time to swing by.  I hooked it up in about fifteen minutes, and the guy was there doing the finishing touches on the blinds and curtains.  The new furniture had just been delivered yesterday, so we got to check it out!  It looked really nice!

I got the Tivo hooked up and ready to go in about 15 minutes, and was ready to head off to Ikea, but my mom and Dan's mom kept talking, and then we wound up re arranging some of the furniture, and we were there for about an hour and fifteen minutes!  My mom enjoyed seeing the new fireplace and furniture, and she also noticed that they got the same rug that my grandma has, and also two of the same chairs!  Wild.  I didn't even realize!

When we departed, we continued with our trip to Ikea.  We returned the old shelf, and then walked around the store, and purchased the new one.  I also got a blue Plastis.  I couldn't resist.

For lunch, we ate at the Ikea cafe, and I got the spaghetti, and also some Swedish meatballs!  They were really good!  While we were eating, there was a table of little Chinese boys sitting next to us.... three of them, waiting for their parents to come over with the food.  One was really young, and in a high chair... the other two were maybe 6 and 7.  They were ALL so well behaved, and sat there talking, and then sang a song (but not loudly) they were so cute.  And when their parents came over, they started eating, and one of them said "WOW... THIS IS THE BEST FOOD EVER!!"

After Ikea, we headed home, carried in the heavy box, and then my mom departed.

I watched a couple of episodes of Skins while waiting for Dan to get home from golfing, and then took a shower.

For dinner, we went out with Mike and Paul, and their friend Brandon.  We met at Paul's house, and then went to eat at a restaurant called "The Silver Pheasant!"  It was wild... the dining room was like an old house, and it wasn't very crowded at all!  It was a nice place, and I enjoyed the food, but you wonder how places like that stay open!  I got linguine with meat sauce.  It was a cool place, I would go back!

After that, we went back to Paul's house and we decided to watch a movie, and settled on a very strange one we stumbled upon on Netflix called, "Dr. Phibus Rises Again!"  WOW!  That's all that can be said!  It was about a man who speaks through a wire connected to his neck, and who was in search of some magical place in Egypt where he could bring his wife back to life.  The strangest thing about the movie was how he managed to have all of their elaborate things with him.  How did he get them there?!  All of a sudden he had a GIANT electrical fan in the middle of the dessert, or the "wind-up band" (although we knew he took that on the boat with his pipe organ), and there were just soooo many more weird or unexplainable things.  It was a great movie to watch though... I thoroughly enjoyed it!  It was from the 70s.

After it was over, Brandon left, and then shortly after, Dan and I left as well... It was about 12:15 and we were both pretty tired, but Dan was exhausted from his day of walking/golfing.

We got home and watched the end of a show about the American presidency which we had started watching earlier, and now it's time for bed!

The sad thing is that tonight we lose an hour!  And we won't get it back until November...

Now, It's time for bed!  Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
