"exposed manhole" or "80 degrees!"

Hey Journal!

Work today was pretty calm and enjoyable. Don't get me wrong, I had a ton of work to do, but it was nowhere near as overwhelming as the past few days, and I didn't feel overly stressed! :)

Oh, and it was a BEAUTIFUL day out today! AMAZING! It was just under 80 degrees! How unexpected! I went outside two times to take pictures this afternoon, and it was great to get outside and be able to enjoy it, even if it was just for a little while. The sad part is, it's supposed to get very cold again next week. Even tomorrow is supposed to be cold. It's already chilly outside.

When I woke up this morning, I watched the ending of "Radio 1's Longest Show EVER" and saw Chris Moyles beat the record, and then end the show after 52 consecutive hours on the radio! Wildness.

It really was entertaining.

In the middle of the day, I went to the bank to make deposits for the golf course, and then headed back.

I had sliders for lunch, however it was quite an order because first, Meg forgot to put my order in, and then I only got two instead of four, and they were gross, so Rich made me new ones.

I departed at 5, and headed home. Watched the news, and when Dan got home, we went over to Kristen and Don's for Chicken Pot Pie! We hung out and ate dinner, and then decided to go for a walk since it was still pretty warm out! We walked to the town, and went to Red Mango. I was just along for the ride, as I do not enjoy Red Mango, or any Yoghurt. (British spelling.)

As we walked back, we were walking by the Starbucks shopping center, and noticed a GIANT hole in the middle of the ground where a manhole cover used to be! There was a small yellow "WET FLOOR" sign in front of it, but other than that, it was quite open and dangerous! It was HUGE, and it would have been SO easy for someone who wasn't paying attention to where they were walking to have fallen in! Seriously.

We called Public Safety, and they sent the Fire Marshall over about 20 minutes later. She was quite concerned, and thanked us for reporting it. We had to leave, because we didn't wanna be weird, but we walked back to their house, and then got in the car and drove back to stake it out! We watched as she stood guard by the hole with her lights flashing, and then as another Public Safety car arrived, and then someone who we think is the manager of the property. He came with two kids, one with a red shirt, and one with a black shirt, who he ordered to get large pieces of plywood from a store that was having work done inside, and then ordered them to retrieve shopping carts from Waldbaum's to make some sort of barricade around the hole. The one in the red shirt led the operation, and clearly understood the gravity of the situation, while the one in the black was not as concerned. The man in yellow pulled a roll of caution tape out of his trunk, and it looked like they were good to go... but strangely, they just stood around.

We watched for a while, but nothing was going on, so we went for a drive. We made a stop at McDonald's so I could get a McFlurry, since I felt left out not getting Red Mango. Then we returned to see that they were still standing there.

We called it a night after that, and were happy that we had done our good deed for the night. I'm glad we did, we may have really saved a life! It was pretty scary!

We were all getting tired, so we dropped off Kristen and Don, and headed home! Now we're just getting ready for bed! It's been a long day, and a long week! Time for bed!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
