5/23/11 - 1:43am London
5/22/11 - 8:43pm New York

Hey Journal!

Well, tonight is our last night in London! I can't believe it... It's gone so fast... but at the same time, we have a WHOLE WEEK in front of us seeing all different towns and cities across the UK! It's really going to be an adventure!

This morning, we woke up around 8:30 and got ready for the day. We took a shower, and got ready, and off we went. We stopped for breakfast at McDonald's and I got the pancakes with sausage. The sausage patty was pretty much the same as the ones at home, but the pancakes were so weird, they were nothing like ours!

After our quick breakfast stop, we walked down to the Canary Wharf Jubilee station, and took the tube to Waterloo, changed to the Northern line and went to Leicester Square.

Our first stop of the day was a tour we had booked in January at the BBC Broadcasting House. This is where the BBC Broadcasts most of their radio shows from, but not BBC Radio 1. We were a little early for the tour, and Dan had to use the bathroom, so he went into a very fancy looking hotel across the street! :P

Anyway, the tour started at 11:10 and it was pretty interesting. We got see the Radio Theater and lots of other cool areas of the building. We even went out on the roof which had a good view.

After the tour, we went to have lunch. We actually had to head to Olympia for our Dr. Who Experience, so we took the tube that way, and got off at Earl's Court. There was a chinese restaurant there, and we figured it looked like a good spot for lunch. It was a very strange place, and we got seated in the back room which was even stranger looking than the main dining area. There were several chinese people eating there, which is either a good sign or a bad sign. A good sign that the food is good and/or authentic, and a bad sign because maybe it's TOO authentic for us people who are accustomed to the Americanized Chinese food!

Anyway, we got Chicken Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and PFR. The rice was the best of the bunch, the chow mein was good, but the noodles were thin as could be!

After we left, took a bus down to the area where the Dr. Who Experience is. We had booked this a couple of months back. It was pretty cool. In the beginning, they put on a little production so you feel like you're in an episode of the show, and then after that they have a museum-ish section of Dr. Who items from over the years! That was my favorite part! I got pictures of/with all of the crazy alien creatures who have been in the shows!!

When we left there, we were really getting hungry for dinner. Our next stop was to go the R1 building to meet Aled, so we headed to that area and then went to a pub for dinner. I got a Sunday Roast, and it was Chicken with mashed potatoes, string beans, and Yorkshire pudding! It was similar to what I had gotten yesterday for lunch except it had chicken instead of beef. It was AMAZING! I loved it!

When we were done, we walked down to R1 and we were there pretty close to the time Aled said he would be there, but he didn't get our message for a while... so we wound up not seeing him till his show was over! He came out at about 10:10 and we talked for about 15-20 minutes! We talked about our trip, and he gave us a bunch of tips of places to go and some things to do along the way. He was really nice. I'm so glad we came back to R1 to see him today!

Just before we left, we asked for a picture with him, and so the security guard took our picture!

After we left, we walked down to the tube station, and headed back to the hotel. We made it pack pretty quickly, but somehow time has flown by, and it's already 1:41!! Wild!

We have to get to sleep now, we have a long day of driving on the left side of the road, on the right side of the car! Oh boy... We have to be careful!!

Anyway, we had a GREAT time and saw everything we wanted to see before we left. In fact, we met everyone we wanted to! Chris & Aled... AND got autographs from David Tennant and Catherine Tate. What a wild 4 days!

Alrighty... time for bed!!

Goodnight. :)
