"the calm before the storm" or "hurricane prep"

Hey Journal!

This morning I got up and headed off to work. I stopped at the PO Box to get some CPC mail. When I got to work, I went through the mail, and then we went into full hurricane preparation mode for the golf course.

Dan's dad wasn't in until the afternoon, but he called to say that we should take down the awning in the back of the clubhouse. The awning company was too inundated with similar requests to come and do it for us, so we had to do it ourselves. We figured out how the awning was secured to the building, and then some of the maintenance guys came up and started to loosen the bolts and cut the ropes!

We got the small one over by the golf shop down first, and then rolled it up on the lawn. The second one took a while longer, but it's all down now!

I went back inside and did a bunch of CPC contracts, and then headed back upstairs at about 2:00 for the big move of all the patio furniture! All of the tables and chairs from the patio came inside the restaurant! It was wild. It made it worse that it was so hot outside! The sun was beating down on us the whole time!

The day went by CRAZY fast! I had some mozzarella sticks off the buffet for Happy Hour, and then I departed for home at 5.

Jackie and I were talking about how strange it is that it was such a beautiful day. You would never think that a storm like the one we're supposed to get tomorrow is on it's way! It was a perfect day, the calm before the storm!

Just imagine what people thought hundreds of years ago! They would have a nice beautiful Friday afternoon, and then a rainy evening. Oh, nothing too bad! Then all of a sudden the wind keeps whipping up, and they still have no idea if anything huge is coming! So wild!

When Dan got home from work, we went to Uncle Giuseppe's to return some bottles, and then we went to Price Club in search of water. Unfortunately, the water room was completely empty. Not a bottle in sight! Ugh!

We did, however, stock up on some cereal, apple juice, and other items we needed. We also purchased a manager for Christmas.

After that we were pretty hungry, so we went to Ruby Tuesday to visit Joey. We had a nice dinner, and also had a Buy One Get One (15) coupon!

When we got home, we watched Dr. Who! The marathon started tonight, and we watched the first two episodes of the new season! It was a little strange, and a little hard to follow what was going on. I feel like this season is a little more complicated than in the past, but I'm sure we will like it!

I'm loving BBC America already!!

Anyway, time to go to bed! Lots to do tomorrow before the storm arrives!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
