"shawn and caitlin's rehearsal dinner"

Hey Journal!

This morning, I got up and headed off to work. There was a lot of traffic today because there was an accident right on 347 by the diner, and they had to close down the road. It happened just before Dan left for work, so he didn't get stopped in it, but he called to tell me. I went the back back way, and came out onto 347 much farther down the road, and was able to avoid it. Later on in the day, the chef was telling me about how bad it was while he was waiting for his daughters school bus to come!

Today was the deadline for the members to pay their 2012 dues early and to receive a discount on them, so basically the ENTIRE day was spent answering questions about their accounts for next year, and taking their payments. We totally blew away last year's record, which was GREAT... unfortunately, it means it'll be even harder to beat next year!

It was Jackie's birthday today, so the chef made her a special chocolate cake, and we all sang Happy Birthday to her.

For lunch, Linda suggested that I get pasta with chicken fingers and melted mozzarella on top. It was AMAZING! I loved it! What a great idea. I think I have a new favorite... and I'm definitely gonna get it more often! :)

I had to go out to the most office in the afternoon to mail something for Steve, and then at 5:00, I departed and headed home.

Dan had to work late tonight because they are doing their annual charity thing where they work all night long! I got home and watched the news, and then had to get ready for Shawn and Caitlin's Rehearsal dinner which was at the Harbor Club in Huntington.

I left at about 7:30 and took 25A all the way there. Dan left work to go to the rehearsal at the church, and then drove himself to the Harbor Club because he had to go right back to work after it was over.

The piano player there was wild. He kept starting to play songs and then he would get halfway thorough and sloppily end it, and start a new song. Very odd. He also had a glass of wine that he kept on a random table, and he would get up between songs to go drink it. He drank a lot throughout the night.... perhaps that explains why his playing was a little off!

We had dinner, I got the chicken and steak combo. The chicken was "chicken picatta' which we we were trying to figure out the meaning of, but later were told that it means "dredged in cheese." Interesting!

Dan had to get back to work, and so we left around 10:30. I got home at 11, and now it's time for bed! Tomorrow's FRIDAY! Woo, and the big wedding day, so it should be a busy day!
