"good turkey soup, bad chicken parm"

Hey Journal!

So, I left off in my last entry saying that we got up early this morning to take advantage of the free breakfast at the hotel. We got up, and went down to the little breakfast area. I got some orange juice, eggs, and cereal. The eggs were very mealy. They also have a pancake making machine that makes one pancake at a time. It's pretty cool, actually. I had used it last time, and got one this morning, too. The pancake was good, but the syrup was too much for me. I like lite syrup, this wasn't.

We have a couple of good stories from breakfast. When we first arrived, there was this woman there on her phone. She was INCREDIBLY loud. I can't imagine how someone would sit there and scream into there phone with all these people sitting around eating breakfast. She was yelling that someone could not "sleep on [her] new couch." And she kept going on and on and on!

Then, there was a woman at the front desk, and she was talking about her pillow. I saw the woman give her a brand new pillow, and I assumed that she had been complaining about the pillow she had in her room, but after paying a little more attention to the conversation, it seems like she loved the pillow in her room so much, that she wanted to buy one from the hotel to take home!

THEN, another woman comes into the breakfast area and looks at the eggs. She is apparently unhappy with them, and asks the woman who's cleaning up if she can have eggs made a certain way. The woman tells her, "We do not make eggs to order!" Then, about 5 minutes later, all of the eggs are gone, and this man who works there came out of the "pantry" area. He was nice, and happy-looking. He was friendly to everybody, and he came out of the pantry and came face to face with this woman. He said, "GOOD MORNING!!" and she stared him down and said, "ARE YOU MAKING MORE SCRAMBLED EGGS?" He said they would be out in a minute, and they were. But wow, she was a wild one.

So, after all of this, we went back to the room, and back to sleep for a little while longer. We set the alarm for 10:00 and when we got up, we had a ton of stuff to pack up and organize, and we left the hotel at 11:30.

We drove over to pick up Tim and Neil, and then we went out to get something to eat. We went to the Phoenix Diner which we had gone to last time we visited them. I was going to get breakfast, but at the last minute, decided to get the Chicken Parm special. It came with soup, and I got the Cream of Turkey. The soup looked a little strange when it arrived, but it was amazingly good. I loved it. The Chicken Parm, however, wasn't the best. The spaghetti and sauce was odd-tasting, and the chicken tasted a little weird, too. Oh well!

After that, we went to the store with them to purchase a space heater and a microwave!

At about 2:00, we dropped them off back at home, and then we began the journey back home! There was no traffic at all, and we made excellent time until we crossed the Verrazano. After that, it was kinda crappy. The belt had horrible traffic, and it wound up costing us an hour. The GPS had projected that we would get home at 5:00, and we didn't get back until 6!

When we got home, I took a shower, and then we watched an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark which I had recorded this weekend on TeenNick! Woo! We watched the episode where the kids go to boarding school and eat their Spunge and then salt the weird alien eggs!!

Then we watched Salute Your Shorts which had also been recorded from TeenNick! I was excited.. it was the Zeke the Plumber episode, but annoyingly, for some reason their shows were running five minutes late, so I missed the last five minutes of the show, and sadly I don't remember how it ends! Not right!

For dinner, I had some lasagna, and then got ready for bed. We watched tonight's episode of Desperate Housewives, and I really really hope they are wrapping up the whole dead body issue. It's dragging on, and not very entertaining.

It was late, so we are going to save PanAm for tomorrow. Now it's time for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
