"scavenger hunt" or "that was weird, right?"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 8:30 and got ready for another day at Woodloch! I had taken a shower last night, so all I had to do was shave and get dressed! We watched a little of Live with Kelly, an then we headed down to breakfast at about 9:20.

We ate our breakfast, and then we ran to get ready for the scavenger hunt at 10:30! Linda told us about how intense the Woodloch scavenger hunt was, and so we came prepared! She told me to bring my laptop, and it really came in handy!

There were a lot of things that we had to get pictures of from around the area, and we teamed up with another smaller group to get everything done. Linda and the girls from the group went out to do the pictures, while Dan, Dan, and I stayed behind to work on the puzzles portion. There were lots of pictures of famous people, and we had to figure out who they were, and also some pictures of toys, and we had to name them. It was a lot harder than it sounds.

We got a lot accomplished, and we also had a Furby (which we brought just for the Scavenger Hunt) and dressed Connor up as Captain America!

We did pretty well, but we came in third place! We got medals, and our team picture taken for the website! :P It was a lot of fun!

Although we had to find a lot of things for the scavenger hunt, we also managed to lose a couple of things... pretty important things. At one point, Cameron disappeared, and after a minute of frantic searching by Linda, she was found in the toddler room playing with the toys! About five minutes after that, Connor was nowhere to be found... but luckily he was just sitting under a nearby table.

After the Scavenger Hunt, it was time for lunch. I wasn't a fan of any of the choices for lunch today, so I just ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, and i had a couple of Connor's chicken fingers!

After lunch, we went over to the "Nightclub" for Connor's activity... "Boomer's Olympics!" There was only one other kid there, so it was a good thing we showed up! They had a bunch of little games for them to play, and they each got a medal at the end!

Next up, we took the bus over to the batting cages. Before doing that, however, Dan, Dan, and Connor wanted to go on the go karts. It was a little drizzly out, so I didn't really want to get cold and wet, so I stayed over by the batting cages with Linda and Cameron.

When they were done, Cameron wanted to go on, so she went back with Dan (her dad) and Dan played baseball with Connor in the batting cages. The pitching machines were a little weird, so Dan just picked up all the balls that hadn't gone over the net, and pitched to Connor. Dan was trying to teach him how to stand, and how to swing, and he was getting frustrated...so when he wouldn't listen to Dan's tips, Dan threw the ball so he couldn't hit it... then when he would listen, Dan would throw it so he could hit it! Very sneaky!

We waited for the bus to take us back to the main lodge, but we waited a while, and it didn't come... so we walked back ourselves. We went to get some coffee/tea from the lobby, and then went to check out the "Name that Tune" game going on in the North Lodge, but we didn't really want to play, and it had already started anyway... so we just hung out in the back of the room and Connor and I played some games on the MegaTouch machine! Our favorite was MonkeyBash! We got the two highest scores on the machine!

Next, we went over to the gym and played some basketball, and then headed over to the Forest to go in the giant play area again! We were a lot less active in the playplace this time... It takes so much energy to crawl around and up into the crazy levels! We brought some drinks with us, and hung out there for a while!

Then we headed back to the room and got ready for dinner. I got dressed and ready, and then we headed off to eat at about 6:30.

Dinner was good... and then afterwards we went to the Ventriloquist / Contortionist show. The first act was the ventriloquist, and he was pretty funny. He had a couple of different puppets, and I think my favorite was the bird one!

Up next was the contortionist, although he was very contortionistic, he did more randomly funny things than contorting! He was so strange and unusual... The best thing he did was every time he would do something "spectacular," he would reach into his pocket and throw a little burst of confetti into the air. It was hysterical! We were laughing at everything!!

After that, we went to the Dance Party in the North Lodge, where we hung out for a while, had some more drinks, and watched Connor do some crazy moves!

I have noticed that Connor's favorite phrase is, "That was weird, RIGHT?" or "That was crazy, right?" or "That was silly, right?" or "That was ____, Right?" It's so funny! Dan was just telling me something, and he said it, too! And I feel like I keep saying it! It's rubbing off on us!

Now it's time for bed... We're EXHAUSTED! It's been non-stop excitement since we got here... we really haven't had a lot of time to sleep! :P I have to get to sleep now!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
