"lion dancing - 3rd anniversary" or "friendly's coneheads"

Hey Journal!

This morning I got up around 10:00 and watched some TV. Dan and I watched Shark Tank, and then last night's What Would You Do? It's crazy how many What Would You Do? scenes are taped on Long Island! Tonight, one was in Huntington and another was in Farmingdale at the Library Cafe! It's so weird that this is a national show, and people from any other state probably have no idea where these places are, and yet we've actually be to some of them! I also keep thinking that we could quite possibly find ourselves in these situations one of these days! They could easily be doing their thing at a diner or restaurant near us, and so you never know!

While we were watching that, we took a break because Dan wanted to run out to McDonald's and get some breakfast for us. When he came back, we finished watching. We wanted to get out of the house, but it didn't happen until about 1:30! Last night, we had been talking about a house that was for sale on my mom's street and that looked like it would be the perfect size. We looked it up on the Optimum Homes thing, and it said there was an open house today, so we joked that maybe we should go... On the way out, I looked at the website and saw that it was until 2... so we decided to just swing by and check it out!

I called my mom, and she wanted to come over and see it also, so we picked her up, and then went down the street. We got there around 1:45. The real estate woman was very nice, and so was the house. It's actually the same exact layout as Jen B's old house, only in reverse! :P Unfortunately, that house probably won't still be available when it's time for us to buy.... that could be a while since we still have to SELL the current place we live in!

After that, we went to get some lunch at Wendy's. My mom brought a bunch of coupons, and I wanted to get a Chicken Sandwich with just the chicken and the bun, but my order got lost in translation somehow, and I wound up with Chicken nuggets... but it was no big deal. My mom also had coupons for free Frostys, so we each got one after we were done eating.

When we were done with our lunch, Dan and I went to the mall to take a quick walk around. The calendar place was down to 75% off, so we purchased a Justin Bieber calendar for a very cheap price! I can't understand buying a calendar there for $13 in December when if you wait until the day after Christmas, you get 50% off, and then a week or so later, you get 75% off! It's ridiculous!

Anyway, our Bieber calendar is amazing, and we will have to find a good place to display it!

We came home and hung out for a while, then we cleaned up a little, and I took a shower in anticipation of Lion Dancing tonight! Woo!!

We called this morning to make reservations since we didn't know how popular of an event it would be... and I'm glad we did!! Linda came over at 6:50, and Re arrived a couple of minutes later! I showed Linda the video I made for the golf course, and then we hurried out to meet Liz at Lotus East!

First off, I have to say that I feel extremely lucky to have been introduced to the phenomenon that is Lion Dancing! It is so incredible. I can't believe that we just happened to stumbled upon it two years ago!

Last year, there was only one lion, and it was a lot less exciting that the first time, but let me tell you... they made up for it this time! They had four lions, and the show was just as great as I had remembered!

We got to Lotus East a little after 7, and the restaurant was already quite crowded. While we were waiting to be seated, they turned away a few people who came in! They had tons of reservations! There was also a big table of 21 people, and I think they were there last year, too! They must have made it a tradition like we did!

We got our food and were eating when the Lion Dancing started at 8! The drum beating, the cymbals crashing... it was freaking GREAT! We fed our dollars to the lion when he came around... and I actually think this may have been the first time I actually fed the lion! Connor enjoyed as well! He thought it was pretty cool! And this year, the lion ate Connor, Me, and Re! It was crazy!

After Lion Dancing was over, we saw all of the lions heading out to the parking lot out the window.

We stayed a while longer and finished eating, and then we headed out. Re had to head home so that she could get up early for Zumba the next morning, and we decided to go to Monster Mini-Golf! We came back here and rearranged cars, and then we headed off. Unfortunately, when we arrived, it was already closed! We got there around 10:20, and it had closed at 10!

Geez... what kind of Mini Golf place closes at 10! It should be open until at LEAST 4am.

Instead, we opted to go to Friendly's! Woo. We wound up at a random one pretty far away, but it was all good! Liz, Connor, and I got coneheads! I love the conehead! It's the best, and the perfect size!

Connor made quite the mess with his, and he had ice cream all over his shirt and his face! I got some good pictures of that!

It was a fun time, and we left at about midnight. Liz dropped us off at home at about 12:30, and now we're getting ready for bed... actually.. Dan is sleeping already... he couldn't keep his eyes open!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
