"toronto" or "you aren't from here, are you?"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at about 9:00, and we were feeling refreshed! We had a crazy day yesterday, but got a good night's sleep! I took a shower, and then we headed out to explore more of Toronto!

We went to get a bagel at Tim Horton's, and then we took the subway around to a mall that's farther up north. We just wanted to go somewhere and people-watch, and kinda take in the city. We wound up getting off at the wrong stop, and had to walk pretty far to where we wanted to go! Then we finally decided to get on a bus, which was a great idea because I'm sure we wouldn't have made it on foot!

So, we got to the mall and walked around, and I found some more clothes I wanted, but again... not in my size! One thing we DID find out is that Sears here is MUCH nicer than Sears by us! Sears here is like a Macy's and sells clothes that are MUCH nicer than ours do! It's weird! They need to do this by us!

Oh, and a weird story... We went into a little store, and we didn't really say anything to eachother, and this guy who works there comes over and says hi, and is like, "you're not from here, are you?" And Dan talked to him a little, and he asked where we were from, and what we were planning to do in Toronto... but the unanswered question... WHAT ABOUT US GAVE AWAY THAT WE AREN'T FROM HERE?? I really want to know!!

After the mall, we took the subway down to Union Station. We were going to walk to the distillery district, but we decided to go to an auto show instead! It was really random, and we're not really into cars, obviously... but we figure what the heck... we had nothing else planned! So we went in and we checked out all the cars, and got a few free things! It was cool... I mean, I wasn't really excited to see the new cars like other people, but it was still cool.

Then we walked all the way from there to the distillery area where Dan wanted to go to a place called Mill St. Brewery!

It was QUITE a walk! We had also been on our feet non stop since about 11 (except for a couple of subway rides!) It was pretty intense! I needed a break! When we got to the brewery, Dan got some beer samplers, and we relaxed at the bar for a while and let our feet recover!

When we left there around 5:30, we started walking back, but on the way we got on one of those street car things! They run on little cables and have tracks in the road! It was pretty cool!

We went to dinner at a place called The Three Brewers! It was a cool pub-like place right on the main street here, Yonge Street. We sat upstairs right by a window looking out onto the street.

There was also a barrel of peanuts, and people kept getting up and filling up little bags of them. Dan got some, and hes upset because they weren't salted. This lead us to a discussion of how they salt peanuts on the INSIDE without opening them! Another of life's mysteries!

I got a steak for dinner, and it was good... our waitress was weird... at first we had a temporary one, and then our "real" waitress came over. She was kinda weird, and confusing/confused.

We left the restaurant at about 8 and headed back to the hotel to rest up a little. We caught the beginning of the season premiere of the Celebrity Apprentice, and then we headed out to check out some more of the city!

We walked around some of the streets near our hotel, and tried to see if there was any sort of night life, but it seemed kinda quiet. It was a LOT colder out! I was wearing two pairs of pants and my hat, gloves, and scarf! I haven't broken out all that winter gear at home this season ONCE! Insane!

We wound up at a supermarket called Loblaw's that's in a building that used to be the stadium for the Toronto Maple Leafs! It was pretty cool... a pretty fancy supermarket. They had a crazy cheese display. I enjoyed that!

Then we went to Starbucks and then headed back to the hotel!

Now we're just getting ready for bed! Tomorrow we're gonna get up and get breakfast, then hit the road and head home! We may stop at my Uncle's house on the way!

Of course, now we have to try to get back into the country with Dan's expired passport! Craziness!! Let's hope we don't get stranded in Canada!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
