"connor's parade" or "dinner at cpk"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 8:30 and got ready to go out to Linda's for Connor's Little League parade! We met at 9:30 behing a shopping center, and Dan and I lucked out and got a really good parking spot!

The marching band that was there was pretty weird. There were some strange characters in it. While they were practicing, this guy came out of the dry cleaners in the shopping center, and the band started playing as he walked to his car with his laundry. It was pretty funny.

The parade was less of a parade, and more of a giant mob of kids walking down the road. All that was missing was pitchforks and torches! It would have been Beauty and the Beast!

The teams weren't even together, it was just a total mess of people! lol

We marched down to the park, and when we arrived, everyone sat on the field. The field was wild... I'd never seen anything like it before! It was fake grass, but then inbetween the grass there were little rubber pieces. It was like fake grass with rubber dirt! It made the field feel very bouncy, and I liked it a lot! It was hard to stop playing with the fake dirt, though! lol

We got Gatorades and hung out while we waited for them to take their team pictures. While Connor was getting his picture taken, Dan and I watched Cameron over on the bleachers.

After the pictures were over, we started to long walk back to the car! It was pretty warm out, and I was wishing I had word a short sleeved shirt! Connor kept saying, "I can't" and asking to be carried. Unfortunately for him, noone was in the mood to carry him, and so he had to walk it!

There were times when he didn't like like he was going to make it... but in the end, he did!

They had to go to a lacross party, so we parted ways, and Dan and I went to get gas in the car, and then went to have lunch at Chipotle in Farmingdale.

After that, we came home and watched some TV. I was really exhausted, and wound up taking a 2 hour nap. When I got up, we got ready to go out to dinner.

We met Robby, Re, Jen B, and Amanda at Cheesecake Factory near the mall. Dan and I got there a little early and took a stroll around the mall while we waited for everyone else to arrive.

They were going to see "American Reunion" after dinner, but Dan and I couldn't stay for that, so we just went for the dinner component! Unfortunately, the wait at Cheesecake was too long with having to get to the movie after, so we decided to go to California Pizza Kitchen instead. The wait there was only about 20 minutes, if that!

We had a very nice dinner there. I really enjoy their spaghetti bolognese, the only problem with it is that it's too small! At any other restaurant, I'd have leftovers that would last me at least two more days... and here I finish the whole thing in one sitting.... and it's not any cheaper. Sad.

One other thing we learned about CPK is that you can get bread, and the bread is very good.. you just have to request it!

After dinner, everyone went to go see the movie, and we headed home. I was exhausted from having gotten up so early, and so was Dan!

Now we're just watching some TV and getting ready for bed!
