"connor's little league ceremony" or "we found norman vincent"

Hey Journal!

It's not even that late for a Saturday night, but we've had a pretty busy and packed day, and I am super exhausted!!

This morning I got up a little past 10, and I had a really bad night's sleep last night. Dan was snoring louder than ever... and I'm not saying that to be mean, I really mean it. It's started a few weeks before we went to London, and now it's only been getting worse. I wake up a ton of time each night and I have to try to roll him over to make him stop... but it only stops for about 2 minutes before it starts again... just as I'm about to fall back to sleep. Repeat.

Anyway, when I woke up I had some leftover Arroz con Pollo from last night and then when Dan woke up we went out to get breakfast at Strathmore Bagels in Setauket. Our reasoning for choosing Strathmore was that the one and only Norman Vincent was playing there!!

The other night, we had looked at the schedule for The Stream Room in Port Jeff to see if he was playing this summer. (We stumbled upon him as we walked past the Steam Room two summers ago with Julio.... and we've been fans ever since!) We were shocked and greatly disappointed to see that he wasn't on the schedule at all this summer. How crappy is that!

So, we checked out his Myspace... (Yes, he still has one... he may be the only one... so it really is HIS space.) Anyway, his schedule said he would be at the bagel place this morning, so we couldn't miss the opportunity.

As we walked in, no joke, he had just begun to play Sister Golden Hair, which is our favorite song he plays, and we always request it! It was quite the coincidence!

We had our breakfast and enjoyed the music. It was cool, though quite a different atmosphere from sitting out at night by the water in Port Jeff.

We're going next Saturday with Kristen and Don!

After that we went to Old Navy and then to the mall. We walked around, saw Scott, and then left.

We came home and Dan took another chapter of his defensive driving course. Then we left and headed out to Connor's Little League trophy ceremony!

Connor got his trophy, and then we went over and they got a snack and some sodas. They had TONS of Coke rewards there, and Dan and Linda collected them! I wasn't going to go for it, but Dan did, and Linda followed, so I was very happy to get all those points!

After the ceremony, we walked back to the car, and there was a truck parked in a large puddle! We watched the ducks, and tried to feed them some goldfish crackers. Then we went to Friendly's for lunch.

When we got to Friendly's we stood at the little podium waiting to be seated for about 10 minutes. It was a little ridiculous. Finally, the manager came over and said that they were a little short-staffed, and asked if we would mind standing and waiting another 10 minutes!! Ridiculous!! Linda asked if we could just sit down... since there were a million tables! We didn't mind waiting to be served, but standing at the door was getting a little crazy.

He said okay, and so we sat down. A girl arrived and put her pocketbook away, and came right over to our table. She was nice, and we really didn't have to wait that long at all.

I opened the menu and saw this turkey meal that I really wanted to try. Usually at Friendly's I just get my usual grilled cheese, but I wanted to go all out today.

It was good, but a little too salty.

After we had our lunch, we went over to the Sunrise mall and walked around. We went to H&M, and Sears, and wandered around a bit.

After that, we parted ways, and Dan and I headed home.

Lau had texted us earlier in the day and said she was trying to get something together for tonight, and we had originally said we would be available... but we were out later than we thought with Linda and the kids, and we figured we would come by as soon as we could if anything was going on, but Lau texted me to say that noone else had been available.

I felt bad because it would have been nice to hang out with Lau and Ryan, especially since we usually don't get to see them alone, but we were just so tired.

One the way home we made a quick pitstop at Target to get some food and also to buy those nasal strips for Dan! He's going to try them to see if it prevents his snoring.. and if that doesn't work... I guess I have to get earplugs for myself!!

I took a shower when we got home, and now it's time for BED!! Gotta get up bright and early for Father's Day breakfast(s).

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
