Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 9am and we Fred made us a big breakfast! He made eggs, bacon, potatoes... it was perfect!

We ate, and while we ate we watched some more Olympics. I think we've watched more Olympics than we would have if we had been home this weekend! But at the same time, we didn't just spend the day inside watching TV... it just fit into the day somehow!

We left around 10:00 and headed up north towards the town where Fred grew up, Saint-Jean-de-Matha. It took about an hour to get there, and we went to a park called Chutes Monte--Peine. It was really cool... It had lots of waterfalls, and people pretty much used it like a beach. They went swinning in the deeper parts, and layed out on the rocks! It was really nice.

If I had known what it was going to be like, I would have brought my bathing suit because it was really cool looking!

We spent a while there and walked around the trails and checked out the view from different spots. Some people were even jumping in off the rocks! They were doing flips, and all kinds of crazy stuff. We said we should have them scores for execution and synchronization like in the Olympics! :P

It was really hot outside, and we were all sweating like crazy when we left the park. We went to a really good fast food place that Fred used to work at called Chez Gros-Loup. It was pretty good... I got a chicken patty burger and a grilled cheese sandwich!

When we left there, we went to see Fred's parents' house. He said, "I present you the house of my parents."

His Dad spoke a very little bit of English., and his mom spoke no English at all. Even so, we still had a very nice time there and enjoyed meeting them very much. They were watching the Olympics when we arrived, and we sat in their enclosed patio type room for about a half hour or so. Then we went outside and they showed us the garden. It's a pretty big property, and a very nice house. Before we left, we got the grand tour of the house, and saw Fred's old room, and we counted the picture of him around the house!

After that, we headed back to Montreal, and I dozed off for about 20 minutes in the car. When I woke up, we were in Charlemagne, which is the town where Celine Dion grew up! We saw the street called Celine Dion Boulevard, and turn around in the parking lot of a place called Celine Pizza! Someone is really trying to capitalize off that!

After that we went back to Fred's house, and while we relaxed and waiting to go out to dinner, we watched more Olympics. Throughout the weekend we had a running joke of "I declare open the games of London... the 30th Olympiad of the modern era!" Which is similar to what the Queen of England said when she opened the games on Friday night! We also both loved the Mr. Bean part! It was great!

Anyway, we went for dinner at an Italian restaruant, and I got spaghetti bolognese. I said I GOT spaghetti bolognese because I ordered Fettuicini, but when they came out wit hthe fgood, they waiter said they had made a mistake in the kitchen, and asked if Spaghetti was okay. I was actually very happy with the spaghetti, and once he brought it, I think it was a better choice. Fred said, "when it's time to pay, tell them 'oops... the bank made a mistake... they give me only Monopoly money!'" haha!

It was REALLY hot in the restaurant, and overall, it was hot and humid out tonight. When we left, we took a walk around, and they had these big staircases set up, and you'd go up to the top and press a button, and it takes your picture and automatically posts it online. It was pretty cool, and we went around and got pictures at a couple of them! I have to remember to go online and find them all later!

We returned to Fred's and we went in his hot tub. It was really nice outside, and his hot tub is really cool. I don't know how we got on the subject, but most of the time we were in the hot tub (which Fred calls a "spa"), we talked about Quebec, and how Canada and Quebec were formed, and why some people want an independent Quebec, and how that would effect Canada and the economy! Wild! After a while Dan and I had to sit on the edge because it was too hot inside, but I kept going back in every now and then.

After we came inside, I took a quick shower, and now it's time for bed! Tomorrow, we're gonna sleep till whenever, and then just take it easy and enjoy the day in Montreal!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
