Hey Journal!

Greetings from Montreal!!

Yesterday was a pretty busy day so I didn't have a chance to write my entry last night!

On Saturday morning we got up super-early... at 5am and hit the road around 5:30. There was no traffic at all and we made excellent time. On the way up, we listened to Friday's Chris Moyles Show which I had put on a CD for the journey!

Around 8:30 we were getting pretty hungry so we looked for somewhere to stop for breakfast. We were just on the other side of Albany, and I looked at the map and saw the Latham 76 Diner! Now, for those of you who don't remember the entry in my journal from back in 2004... We went to the Latham 76 Diner with Kristen when we went to visit her at Siena!

We went inside, and it was EXACTLY the same.. exactly how I remembered it. It was a fun experience, but not the same without Kristen. I loved the old decor, and I hope it never changes so we can make more pilgrimages there in the future.

The food came out pretty quickly, and it was also really good. I got french toast, eggs, and ham. Then we were back on the road. The only other stop we made was at a rest stop where they had a weird sign that said "Please do not wash hands in drinking fountain!"

As we passed through the town of Chazy, which is the town where Dan got pulled over for speeding on our trip home from our second visit to Montreal, I reminded Dan to go SLOWLY! Just as I said that, a guy flew past us, and must have been going about 85. Dan said, "HE should slow down." And then literally three minutes later, down the road, we see him pulled over by a State Trooper. Insane! That town is intense!

When we got to the Canadian border, we had no line at all. It took less than a minute to get through! Woo Hoo!

We arrived at Fred's house at about 1:45pm. He showed us around his new apartment, and then we watched some of the Olympics! We were going to go out for lunch, but because of the time, we decided to just take it easy and relax, and go out for dinner later. Fred showed us the new air mattress he bought just for our visit. It's really tall, and self inflates. I was laying on it, and I guess the tiredness hit us from having gotten up so early.

We took a nap from 3 until about 6:30! When we got up, we got ready and went out for dinner. We walked to the main part of the city and looked for a place to eat. The road was closed, and was pedestrian only, so there were lots of people outside. It was a really nice night out, too. It was the perfect temperature.

We ate dinner at St-Hubert, and I got a 1/4 Chicken.

After dinner, we walked around some more before heading back to Fred's. There are these "Memorama" areas around where you can press a button and it will take your picture and instantly post it online. We just looked at our picture from last night, and it was funny.

When we got back, we watched some more Olympics. Basically, any time that we were at Fred's, we watched the Olympics while we got ready, or relaxed, or whatever. Olympic-mania!

Then at about 10:30, we went out because one of Fred and Tom's friends who had come to visit NY once was having a housewarming party. We went to new apartment, and Tom was there, so it was nice that we got to see him as well! He didn't know we were coming, so he was pretty surprised to see us there!

We stayed for about an hour, and then we were pretty tired, and planned to get up early this morning, so we headed back, and went to sleep!

Now we're up for the day, and about to head out to the north towards where Fred grew up. We're going to go to a park with waterfalls and stuff!

Be back later!!

Adios for now. :)
