"fred comes to visit"

Hey Journal!

Well, today was a real washout! We had a pretty crazy rain storm right in the middle of the day which kind of changed out plans with Fred, but we wound up having a full day of fun anyway!

We got up this morning at about 9:00 and got ready to go pick up Fred from the train station. We told him to take the train to Babylon because the Ronkonkoma line was having lots of work done on it, and we didn't want him to have to take a bus from Hicksville to Ronkonkoma! That would have been crazy.

Anyway, we stopped to get gas on the way, and then picked him up! He was waiting on a bench when we arrived.

Our first stop was at Dan's parents' house to do the official weigh-in for Dan and Fred's competition! Dan lost a total of 3 pounds, and Fred lost 3.5 making him the official winner both my total weight lost and percentage! It was a close match, though!

After that we came home and watched some Olympics. I had some cereal, and then we went out for a bit. It started to rain, so we just drove around and went to the bluff. The rain was crazy, and we had watched the forecast which said it was only going to get worse.

We decided to go Mini Golfing, and we went to Monster. Indoor, of course. It was kinda crowded, but we had a fun time. It was something to do, and kill some time since there was nothing we could really do outside!

When we left there, it was still coming down really hard. We went to the golf course to say hi to Dan's dad and Re. Re was just finihsing up her day's work, so we left with her, and went back to her apartment.

The rain pretty much stopped by then, and things were much calmer outside. Re got changed, and then we went to the Blue Point Brewery. We tried to go to Alive After Five in Patchogue, but it was cancelled because of a tornado warning. Sheesh!

For dinner, we went to Lotus East and had our favorite waiter, Gene! Fred enjoyed, and he got the Zombie. He got a littttte drunk and tried to smash fortune cookies into Re's mouth!

When we were done with dinner, we came back home, and I got my car keys and brought Re back home. Fred fell asleep on the couch, and Dan watched some TV. When I got back, I watched the Olympics with Dan, and Fred woke up intermittently to watch some of the diving.

We're not sure what we're going to do tomorrow, but we're probably going to see if we can go to the beach, or possibly go to the beach on Fire Island. I've never gone there before, so that should be interesting if we do that.

Anyway... I'm getting tired now! It totally doesn't feel like a Friday, though...it feels like a Saturday!
