"day of adventure with connor and cameron"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at about 10:00, and got ready for the day. We watched some of last night's Shark Tank, and then we headed out to pick up Connor and Cameron!

We stopped at Dunkin Donuts on the way and Dan got some breakfast, and we got Munchkins to bring over!

We got to their house around 11:45 and Connor hadn't gotten his pants on yet. He was playing with some Knex in his room. Linda and Cameron were across the street getting their nails done. When they got back, we got all packed up and headed off for the day!

We didn't have any solid plans, but just figured we'd have a day of fun and adventure!

First, we went to a park in Smithtown. It was a little park we'd never been to before, but it had a nice playground with three slides! They had a lot of fun running around and exploring it! I got a little burn on my elbow from going down the slide with Cameron! Ouch!

After that, it was pretty hot, so we went to 7-11 and got Slurpees! Mmm! Cameron wanted Strawberry... but unfortunately they didn't have that flavor. In fact, I don't know if I've ever seen a strawberry Slurpee!

Next we stopped by Dan's parents' house and we hung out there for about 15 minutes or so. Cameron used her princess potty, and got to put a smiley face on her potty chart! Woo Hoo!

Then we left and went to ANOTHER PARK! We went to Tackan, actually, and we went to the new playground in the back of the school.

It's crazy how different it is since the last time I was there! First off, in the front, they have demolished the Big Toy (which I knew) and they replaced it with these awful thin wall-like plastic slabs that you can climb. They are so small... there's no way it can accommodate more than a couple kids at a time! They removed the swings, and there's basically nothing to play on anymore. In the back, the spiders, two sets of swings, and the monkey bars are all gone, too. It makes no sense. Instead of the hill that led to the playground, the flattened off the place where the blacktop used to be, and they built a small plastic-type playground... but that's it. Nothing else to do! It's so weird!

Now, usually I don't like change, but it's not really about CHANGE... because I could see why the old style playgrounds could have used a facelift... but it's not that I don't like what they replaced them with, it's that there aren't really any OPTIONS for the kids. It's only one type of playground, and not a lot of space to play in!

Anyway, my mom was over at the triplets' house and so she came to Tackan to say Hi. She hung out with us there for a little while, and then she went to walk under one of the bars, but slammed her head into the bar and fell on the ground! It was wild! Dan said it made a loud noise when she hit it! Crazy! Connor and Cameron were just standing there staring at her!

When we were done back there, we went to the front for a little bit, and Connor went on the Monkey bars in the front playground, too... On his last attempt, he fell off and scraped his elbow on the ground! He was very very upset, and was crying a lot! We tried to clean it off and put a Bandaid on, and luckily that did the trick. He did start to feel better.

When we left there, we were all really hungry. We proposed going to Sonic, and they liked the idea very much, although they had never been to a Sonic before! Connor got a Corn Dog, which is "A HOT DOG ON A SICK!" It was a good experience... we had a fun time!

Next we went to the outlets and walked around. We went to the toy store, and they had a fun time checking out all the random toys. Then we were getting tired, so we went back to the car.

Linda had said she was going to meet us there to pick up the kids, so we hung out in the car for about 15 minutes. Connor fell asleep, and Cameron was playing with her crocodile/dinosaur toy!

I was super exhausted and felt like I was going to fall asleep, but when Linda and Dan arrived, I got a second wind! We went to Christmas Tree Shops and did a little shopping, and then I started to get a bad headache and feel really exhausted, so we headed home! lol

We watched the rest of Shark Tank, and then What Would You Do? Crazy that all of our shows are coming back now!

We didn't watch tonight's episode of Doctor Who, however... we're gonna watch that tomorrow morning!

Anyway, it's bed time now! I need to get to sleep!
