"columbus day"

Hey Journal!

Happy Columbus Day!

I was happy to have the day off from work today, but Dan did not. I got up around 10:00 and watched some TV. There was nothing on that I was interested in, so I played some games on my phone, and then I started flipping through the channels.

I wound up watching the end of the first Jurassic Park, and then at 11:00, I started watching The Price is Right. I flipped back and forth, cutting out the commercials, and also watched Jurassic Park 3, which was on TV Land for some reason. First off, I didn't know TV Land shows movies, and second, why would they skip from 1 to 3? Odd. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie, so I watched the whole thing.

After that, I decided I had to get out of the house, so I made a list of things I needed to do, and then I went to the store. I stopped at the bank, and then went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I needed to buy a new cookie sheet because the one we had is all gross looking now! It has all rusty spots on it! I have no idea how that happened, but it's very weird.

I got that, and also a cookie cooling rack! Fancy.

Then I went to Target and purchased some ingredients I needed for making dinner tonight. I made my famous chicken and rice thing. I got the vegetables and cream of chicken at Target, and also got some milk and other items.

On the way home, I stopped at ShopRite and bought the chicken, and then got home around 4. I started making dinner, and my timing was perfect because it was ready about 10 minutes after Dan got home from work, which was just what I had planned for.

Dan got home around 6, and then we ate dinner and watch the news. We watched World News, and then I made cookies for dessert.

Then we watched two episodes of Breaking Bad, and then I took a shower.

After my shower, we watched Major Crimes. Good episode tonight.... I'm going to miss this show when it goes on it's long break... which I am sure is coming soon!

Oh, and one last thing... The Columbus Day parade was on ABC this morning, and it was a big Italian celebration! WHY has Columbus Day been hijacked by Italians? First off, if we are celebrating his "discovery" of America, he was doing it for Spain...so shouldn't we be honoring them, instead? I just don't get why because he was Italian, it means we have to celebrate Italians on this day! It's really weird.

Anyway, it was nice to have a day off from work. I felt like I got to relax, I got a lot done, I made dinner, I watched TV... iI was happy.

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
