"the trip back home" or "alternate thanksgiving"

Hey Journal!

We got up this morning at 8am and went down to the hotel lobby for breakfast. We had our usual eggs and assorted juices!

We went back to the room and finished packing up and we were ready to leave by about 8:55. We didn't get on the road until about 9:20, and then we stopped for gas right around the corner from the hotel before we got on the highway.

The car ride went quickly and took 5.5 hours. Not as great as our 4.5 hour trip on the way down, but not bad at all! 5.5 is what you hope for, so we did pretty good!

We only stopped once at a rest stop on the Jersey Turnpike. I think that was the first time that I had stopped at that particular one.

We dropped everyone off at their respective houses, and then headed back to Dan's parents' house which was where our car was.

The first thing we did when we got home was take showers and just relax for a little bit. We watched a little TV, and then got ready to go out for dinner.

My mom had saved some turkey for us on Thanksgiving and made mashed potatoes, corn, and stuffing for us tonight! It was a post-Thanksgiving mini-Thanksgiving!! It was a great dinner!!

We hung around for a little while after dinner, and then we had plans to go out to the mall and just go to random stores with Re! She met us there, and my mom wanted her to come in and say "see the Thanksgiving decorations." (I don't really think there were that many Thanksgiving decorations!)

After a little while of talking in the living room, we headed out to the store! Our first stop was Pier 1 for Re! She wanted to get some Christmas decor for her apartment, but she also wound up getting a giant Lion stick with a crazy mane! It will fit in perfectly with her apartment's style! I really like it!

Then we went over to the mall and walked around, and finally to Target. The one thing I really wanted to get was a roll of duct tape, but unfortunately I completely forgot until we were on our way home!

We dropped Re off at her car, and then we headed home. We got home a little after 10, and now it's time for bed! It's been a long day!
