"last day in disney" or "abort the landing" or "cabinets on the go"

Hey Journal!

What a crazy day.... and you'll never guess how it turned out! It's worth reading to the end! UGH!

Yesterday was Monday, and our last day in Disney! We wanted to make the most of it, so we got up at 8:50 and packed up our things and got ready to go to Epcot! We checked our luggage in the lobby for our flight and then left our carry-ons with the "bell services."

It was super easy to check everything... they really make things hassle free!

We got on the bus to Epcot and we rode Spaceship Earth one last time. What an amazing ride. It is by far my favorite ride in Disney, and I love the "unknown Egyptian pounding reeds flat" who invented Papyrus!!! :)

When we were done, we had nothing else we needed to do at Epcot, but had a few rides we wanted to do over at Studios. We walked through Epcot and left through the back entrance. On the way out, Dan walked to Japan to get Kaki Gori and I stopped to hear Papa Noel speak in Canada!

Then we left and took the Friendship from the Beach Club to Studios! It was a nice little ride.

We got a FastPass for Tower of Terror, but it turned out that we really didn't need it at all when we returned...

In the meantime, I got a pretzel and frozen lemonade! My absolute favorite snack at MGM (ahh! I couldn't help myself!)

We went on Rockin' Roller Coaster in the single rider line and then went to get some snacks.

Then we headed back to ride Tower of Terror but we were shocked to find that there was no line at all even for the standby entrance! We sat in the front row, and it was great... we went up and down so many times!

When we got off, we did it one more time. THis time, from where we got on the line to the little pre-show movie, we didn't see ANYONE else, it was completely empty!

Next we went to the Animation Courtyard, and we drew Goofy, and then we went to "One Man's Dream." When we were done there, we walked around some of the stores, and picked out some things to buy. Frank met us there around 2:30 and he helped us purchase some items.

Just as we were about to leave, it started pouring torrentially! The Pixar Play parade was going on, so we watched that from inside the stores and then we crossed the street and headed out as soon as the parade was over. We couldn't wait for it to stop raining because we had to get to our hotel by 4:05 to get the Magical Express to the airport! We headed out into the rain, but amazingly just as we went out, the rain completely stopped! NICE!!

We got back to the hotel at 3:05 and Dan went to get a snack from the restaurant, and Frank and I hung out in the gift shop. Then at 4:05, the bus arrived and we said our goodbyes to Frank and to Disney World.

We got to the airport with plenty of time to spare and we got some Happy Meals to hold us over until we landed and then we went through security! There was a long line, but it went very quickly and we got in with no problem.

We took the little monorail over to the Southwest terminal and then we sat and waited for the flight to board. We forgot to check in again last night so we had pretty high numbers. By the time we got on the plane, there were no two seats together! Ugh! We sat near eachother, though.

The people around us were nice. My row had a quiet but nice girl to my left and an older woman on the right. She used her iPad most of the time, but she made small talk and was friendly. The woman in front of Dan was this woman's sister and had her two kids with her.

The flight was bumpy, possibly one of the bumpiest I've been on, before before it took off, the pilot announced that due to fog in New York, we may not be able to land, and there was a high chance of having to land in Baltimore instead. He said anyone who wanted to get off could do so.

The plane finally took off a half hour late, and we were on our way. At one point, the flight tracker looked like we were heading right for Philadelphia... then all of a sudden we made a sharp turn to the right and headed for home.

As we started to land, the wing flaps extended and you could feel the plane slowing down. This went on for a while and I was SURE we had to be almost about to land! I looked out the window, and couldn't see anything below. I was sure we must be close to the ground but couldn't figure out why there was nothing to be seen! Finally, all of a sudden, I saw cars and roads, and we were so close to the ground. I saw the runway lights and then all of a sudden the planes engines roared and the plane took off at a CRAZY angle! We shot right back up! It was insane, and everyone on the plane was all quiet and clearly wondering what was going on, and possibly a little nervous. Our row was laughing and just kinda taking it all in stride, but the woman on the other side of Dan was not at ease!

We were back in the air, and I figured they would be taking us to somewhere else but after about 15 minutes, they announced that we would try again! We circled back and repeated. I still couldn't see anything out the window until the last second and I was just expecting to pull back up again but the plane landed and everyone clapped!

We finally landed around 9:45! Oh, and while on the plane, the woman next to me asked me if I was on a high school trip! If I look that young, I am so grateful! Then, the woman next to Dan asked him what grade he was in! Wildness!

My mom picked us up from the airport and we went to get food at the diner. I had eggs and ham, and we had a good meal and then headed home.

We got our suitcases and headed inside... and here's when the evening took a turn!

We opened the front door and dan looked to his right. He was confused by what he saw, so he turned on the light. There were glass bottles, and glass pieces ALL over the floor in the kitchen. After we turned the corner, we noticed that the entire set of kitchen cabinets had fallen down and the contents was all over the place.

All of our liquor bottles were on the floor and there was a giant puddle of Captain Morgans and vodka! We have no idea why or how this happened, but it must have made so much noise. The only thing holding up and stabilizing the whole cabinet were two pots that were in the dish drain. They are completely crushed and deformed, but managing to keep things from getting worse!

We looked closer, and saw that the cabinet had fallen onto the neck of the faucet and completely snapped it off. Then, we noticed that the soap had been pushed into the sink and on its way it TURNED THE WATER ON! So, the water was seeping out the whole time and was all over the counter, all under the sink, and all over the floor.

What a disaster. We turned the water off and swept up as much glass as we could. There was glass in the other room by the TV, and even in the stove burners! I have no idea how it got up that high, but it must have been some scene! We then carefully removed all of the remaining cups and mugs that hadn't fallen or broken. Then we cleared out our food, and then we mopped up as much as we could.

Just what we wanted to do after a LONG day and an exhausting trip!

We were up until about 2:30am cleaning it all up, and then I took a shower and we finally got to bed. Now we have to deal with getting all this fixed and repaired! What a mess and a half! Anyway, it's back to work today, so I will be back later with another update!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
