"the ice sculpture rides again" or "a return to norman"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at about 10:00 and saw that Kristen had texted me to see if we wanted to get breakfast with them and see Norman Vincent! We did, so we got ready and they picked us up shortly after!

We headed over to the bagel place and sure enough, there he was. It had been a long time since we'd gone to see him! There was a super long line today, so Kristen and I went to get a table while Dan and Don waited on line to place our order.

Norman played some good songs today... soon after we arrived, he played Sister Golden Hair! YEAH! Then later, Don requested the famous "Same Old Lang Syne!" He REALLY does a good job with that one! As Kristen says, "it's transcendent!"

We stayed until he was done playing and then we went to the mall! We had to park far away because it was super crowded, and we walked past the Panera. I wanted to go in the get a gift card for my Grandma and Grandpa for Christmas! We got another bonus card! Woo Hoo!

The mall was PACKED and it was a zoo! We didn't actually end up buying anything, just walked around and checked out the insanity!

After that we went to the Aldi Market which is so ghetto. They have the weirdest stuff. Dan was going to buy some iced tea, but they don't take credit cards, so we bailed. How gross.

Kristen and Don dropped us back off at home and we cleaned up a little around the house. We are still working on getting everything put back in the cabinets and back where it belongs.

At 3:00, we went over to Dan's parents and the drove together to the golf course to pick up the ice sculpture for the party! It was the one from two nights ago at the Holiday Happy Hour, and we put it back in the freezer to save for this event! It was amazing! It was still in perfect shape... it hadn't melted at all!

We got it loaded into the car, and then headed back! We set it up in the backyard, but unfortunately at work, they had put it back into the freezer with apple cider still inside the tube... so it FROZE! We couldn't get anything to go through! We boiled some water and poured it down, and that started to melt it, but then I took a metal hanger and cut it, and we poked it down until the ice broke up! Finally, we were able to get it working again! Woo Hoo!!!!

We left at about 5 and headed home, got changed, and ready to go back over for the party. My mom actually picked us up around 5:50, and we got there a little after 6.

Julio, Kristen, and Don came as our party invitees! The party was good, in fact, I think it was one of the best Christmas party in recent memory. (Although I do miss the "parade party" aspect of it!)

I hung out with Kristen and Don most of the night, and we had a lot of fun! The food was good, and Kristen won a beautiful divided tray with a some fun Christmas characters on it! What luck!

We left around 12:00 and my mom dropped us back off at home. We took showers, and now we're exhausted and ready for bed!!
