"still chilly" or "rescue at the bluff"

Hey Journal!

Well, today was much better weather than yesterday but it was still kinda cold. We got up around 11:00 which I thought was pretty good considering how late we had gotten to sleep last night! I was happy that we didn't sleep later than that, though, because it woulda felt like a waste of the day!

We did some stuff around the house and then Dan went over to his parents' house for a little bit. For lunch, my Grandma invited us over for pasta, and so when Dan got back, around 2:30, we headed over for food! I gave my Grandma her belated Mother's Day card... and I know she read the card but I don't think she found it to be as funny as I did! I thought it was hysterical!

Dinner was pasta (shells) with meat sauce and sausage, and it was really good. I enjoyed! Then we hung around for a little while... I helped my Grandma put together some lights that she bought to stick in her flowerpots and then we had some strawberries.

We came home and got ready for the gym and we were at the gym by about 6:00. THe gym was really empty today... the only people there were real weirdos! There was a guy on the elliptical next to Dan who kept holding his phone up in the air. We think he may have been Shazaming the music, or maybe he was trying to get service, but whatever it was it looked absurd and he KEPT doing it!

Gym Report:
25 Pulldowns at 55lbs
60 Crunches at 50lbs
1 mile on the Treadmill in 15mins
1 mile on the Treadmill in 12mins
2 miles on the EBike in 8mins

We came home and got showered up and then went out to Kristen and Don's house to take a walk around 8:30ish. It was nice out but a little chilly, so I had to wear my hoodie. We walked down to Main Street and then we headed back on the other side of the street. We stopped at a new place called the Crazy Crepe. Dan and I shared a chicken crepe with mozzarella cheese. It was good, but not as good as the ones I had in France. I also feel like it was way expensive for what it was. Unfortunate!

Anyway, as we were leaving there, we saw lots of police and stuff heading down the road with a hovercraft! We figured something was going down at the bluff. Kristen's brother just started a new job as Public Safety down there a few nights ago, so we decided to go see what was going on!

We walked back to the house, got the car, and then drove to Kings Park. When we turned the corner on the road, we could see TONS of police, ambulances, and other assorted trucks with flashing lights all packed into the parking lot!

We walked over and Kristen's brother was just at the little guard booth. He said that some Kayakers had gone missing, and that this was the second time today! The first pair had been found, and then two girls were now missing.

We hung out there for a little while and talked to her brother, and then we heard from a man with a dog who said that he had just spoken to the people down at the dock and that they had found the girl in the marsh, and that they had taken her to the hospital!

It was super cold out by now, so we headed back to the car. We took a random drive around, and then it was time to call it a night. We were all tired from having gotten to bed so late the night before!

Now we're home and it's time for bed! Excited that tomorrow is supposed to be much nicer and warmer and that we don't have work!! Woo Hoo!!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
