"grandpa's trip to the hospital" or "something fishy"

Hey Journal!

Today was a really smelly day at work. Literally. The golf course was closed today because there was no outing, and it was a good thing, too, because it was raining a lot!

I got in, and the whole basement smelled really funky. I opened the office, and luckily it didn't smell in there, but later when Dan's dad arrived, we were trying to figure out where it was coming from! After a little while, he realized it was coming from the laundry room where all of the tablecloths and napkins from the Clambake were waiting to be washed! GROSSNESS!

It was a low-tide fish smell, and it was so overpowering in the hall. We closed the door to the laundry room and sprayed Febreze everywhere, and it got better, but the stairwell to the kitchen was still bad!

Re came in for a few hours today and did all of the closes and also paid some bills. Because we were closed, it was a good opportunity to go through the money from the restaurant and see if they were still even. They were short by about $300, but we had a little more than that in the drawer from money that was handed in when it wasn't supposed to! So, we were able to put that money back where it belonged, and we were all good.

At 5:00, I headed home and Dan had his volleyball game tonight. I went to the gym, but I forgot my water! That was a little annoying!

Gym Report:

1 mile on the Treadmill in 15mins
3 miles on the EBike in 12mins

I got home and got showered up and I was excited to watch tonight's Major Crimes! Dan got home from Volleyball just in time, and he took a shower. Just before the show started, I got a call from my mom that my Grandpa had been taken to the hospital because he fell!

Apparently, he was walking back into the house from the sunroom and just fell over and hit a table! My uncle was there and he helped him to sit up and get back up, but the ambulance came and they took him to the hospital.

We left and went to the hospital, but stopped at Wendy's on the way because we were really hungry!

When we got there, we found his room in the Emergency Room. He was doing better, and was pretty normal by now, but it was crazy because nobody know why this keeps happening. They did a bunch of tests, and the doctor came to talk to us. He even said he would probably allow him to go home in a few hours.

At that point, he had to go to the bathroom, so the doctor gave him a jar to pee in. When he was doing that, we were all in the hallway, but his pulse dropped from 88 to 30! Because of that, they decided to keep him overnight.

When we arrived, my mom was there, my Grandma, Aunt Regina, and Aunt Karen! Aunt Regina and Aunt Karen left about a half hour after we got there, though.

We stayed there until about 11:30 and then headed home.

Even though it was late we REALLY wanted to catch Major Crimes, so we put it on, and were SOOOOO disappointed to find out that it had only recorded the last 15 minutes! I have nooooo idea what happened. Well, I actually do have an idea. I think it had something to do with the power, because the Air Conditioner was off (even though we left it on) and the light next to the TV was on (and it often goes on when there are weird power things.)

It couldn't have been out for very long, though, because none of the clocks were reset, and that means it would have had to be like... a split second... but enough to make the TiVo restart! Weird. Maybe we should get an APC battery for the TiVo.

Alas, because we had missed the beginning of the West coast version as well, we have to wait till next week to watch it! So beast. Well, we can watch online....

Anyway, time for bed.
