"coronado springs" or "epcot"

Hey Journal!

Well, it's been a long day but here we are in Disney World!!! The happiest place on earth, and I am, indeed, very happy!

We woke up at 4:45am when the alarm went off and prepared to leave. We didn't have too much to do since we had finished packing before bed last night and had everything by the door and ready to go. We did our last minute checks to make sure we hadn't forgotten anything, and my mom arrived at 5.

There wasn't any traffic on the way to the airport. We had to go to JFK because we had gotten a better deal on AA than on Southwest this time. This is the first time we've gone to Disney and not taken Southwest, actually!

So, like it said, there wasn't any traffic, and we made it there in about 45 minutes. My mom was a little bit of a scary driver because she kept drifting over into the middle lane. We were driving in the left lane and every few minutes she would be riding over the line! I told her so many times, and she kept doing it! In all seriousness, it's dangerous!

So, we got there around 6 and checked in. We were through security, and at our gate, gate 8, by 6:30. The plane took off a little late.. it was supposed to leave at 7:05 but I don't think we actually took off until about 7:20.

Dan and I had a window and middle seat in our row and luckily there was nobody sitting in the aisle seat, so we rearranged ourselves. I took the aisle seat, and Dan took the window seat. It was nice and roomy!

When I first turned my phone on, there was a message that I could get free WiFi access, so I signed up for it. It was good for a while, and I was able to pass some time, but then it cut off after 30 minutes. Blah!

The rest of the time, I tried to get a little sleep in.

We landed a little after 10 and took the little shuttle to the main terminal! We made out way downstairs to the Magical Express, and our Disney vacation was happening!

We are staying at Coronado Springs this time. I've never been here before, but it's nice!

I was a little disappointed with the Magical Express because they dropped off people ate THREE value resorts before dropping us off at Coronado Springs, which is a moderate resort. It's not the end of the world, but they really should do drop offs in order of the level of resort you're staying in.

When we arrived, we checked in and our room was ready! Woop! We are staying in the business class rooms. They're relatively close to the main lobby, which is good, and it's really easy to get to the bus stop.

After we got to the room and settled in a bit, we headed out to Epcot!

In case you were wondering, we didn't get Magic Bands. We tried, and the lady who checked us in said she would have assigned them to us, but they didn't have any when she went to check. Come onnnnnn!

So, when we got to Epcot, the first thing we noticed that's completely different from our last trip is that they have removed the turnstiles at the entrance! No more turnstiles at all! Just a Magic Band / Card reader. It's cool... but it seems like a real hassle for the people working the entrance... they have to keep an eye and make sure that everyone checks in properly... and there's a lot of chaos... it seems!

Anyway, once we got into Epcot, our first order of business was to ride Spaceship Earth! Like a grand and miraculous spaceship, or planet has sailed through the universe of time!! It was amazing, as always!

After that, we headed to Club Cool to meet up with Frank! He was at Epcot all morning. We had some foreign soda, and then checked out the random Ocean Spray cranberry bog that was set up in the middle of walkway to the World Showcase!

We started around the countries, and stopped at Mexico. We rode the Gran Fiesta Tour, and then continued around. We skipped Norway because the wait was long but made it to The American Adventure just in time for the 1:30 start!

After that, we headed the rest of the way around. Frank had to leave at 2:30, so Dan and I went to Journey Into Imagination to kill some time before our lunch reservations.

We got to Le Cellier at 2:50... our reservation was for 3:00. We had a great lunch. I got the NY Strip Steak and Dan got the Filet Mignon. It was a little expensive.. and we don't have the dining plan this time... but it was a great meal. The pretzel bread in the beginning was really good, too. I really love the design of that restaurant.

When we were done, we did the O Canada Circle Vision! I have to say, it wasn't as bad as I had expected... but I had flashbacks to the LAST TIME I watched a circlevision. I remember... it was when I came to Disney in 1998 and it was HOT and PACKED and everyone was standing... and my legs were killing me! We did every circle vision they had! What a mess!

Alas, after that, we did The Seas, and then The Land. When we left The Land, we went out a special exit that brought us into a "backstage area" and let us out near Imagination! So weird. I don't know why they had that door open, or why they were allowing people to go that way, but they were!

We were getting tired at this point... it was about 5:30... and we decided to head back to the hotel. We got the bus back and then we came to our room. Our luggage had been delivered!

We wanted to check out the "business lounge"... so we investigated its location, found it, and went in. It's really weird... they have free snacks and drinks. The snacks are odd though, because they have potato chips, but they're in a bowl and you have to use tongs to TRY to get them! It's really strange! The drinks are good.. I had some great Iced Tea... but it's a little awkward in there!

Next, we came back to the room and put on our bathing suits and headed to the pool! The pool was pretty cool.. it has a big Aztec type pyramid thing! We went in the hot tub for a while and then to the pool and back to the hot tub!

We headed back to the room around 7:30 and Dan took a shower, then I took a shower.

We rested for a little bit, and then took a walk around the lake outside the room, and checked out some other areas of the hotel. We looked at the fitness center, checked out the restaurants at the hotel.

A little later, we ate dinner at the Pepper Market. I got a piece of pork loin with mashed potatoes and rice.

Now we're back at the room and we're EXHAUSTED! We're gonna make it a nice early night and tomorrow we are planning to get up around 7am to get to Hollywood Studios by the time it opens!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
