"magic kingdom" or "magic band"

Hey Journal!

Today we spent our day at Magic Kingdom and most importantly, we got MAGIC BANDS!! Now we can participate in the MyMagic+ and FastPass+ (partially!)

We got up at 8:45 and got ready to head out. We went to Coconino Cove for breakfast and then we were off to Magic Kingdom!

We got a FastPass for Space Mountain and then went across the park to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. When we were done, we traversed the park again and headed over to use our Space Mountain FastPasses.

After that, we decided to head over to the Hall of the Presidents, and on the way we stopped to watch the Dream Along with Mickey show at the castle.

We saw the Presidents, and the woman who introduced the show had the weirdest voice ever! Everything she said sounded so weird, and it was utterly ridiculous! When the show ended, I couldn't wait to hear her again!

When we were done, we headed over to the Jungle Cruise to use the FastPasses we had gotten right after Pirates. We were on the boat called Zambesi Zelda!

At 1:05, we had lunch reservations at the Be Our Guest restaurant! Yes, I know... twice in one trip at one of the most popular new restaurants is unheard of... but we got a link to a website to test out FastPass+ dining reservations there, and it was amazing!

I had the same meal I had last time and Dan got something different. The Braised Pork was incredible. One of the best quick service options in all of Disney World! We ate in the West Wing again, it's definitely the coolest area of the restaurant.

When we were done, we went to the Grand Floridian to get our Magic Bands! Frank was able to assign them to our reservation even though our resort isn't using them until this weekend! We made excellent time getting there... we got out of the park and then right over to the boat. The boat was just leaving, and we met Frank at the dock! He had our amazing MagicBands waiting for us! :)

He was heading home, so we took a bus back to the Magic Kingdom. We had a FastPass to use there before heading back to the hotel. When we got there, we tested out our new MagicBands at the MyMagic+ kiosk. We were able to sign up for FastPass+ reservations right there, however, I am not able to make, change, or cancel reservations on my phone. All of the ones we make at the kiosk show up on my phone, but if I try to modify them, it tells me I'm not eligible!

Next, we went to ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and then on our way our of the park we stopped to meet Mickey at the Town Square Theater!

The wait was only 5 minutes, so we decided we needed to see Mickey this trip! It was a really strange surprise... MICKEY TALKED! It was really weird actually. We got in the room with him and were really surprised to hear him talking! It was a little creepy, actually.

There were 5 important-looking Disney employees there with clipboards and they were watching every move, so I think it's a test of what they're planning to roll out soon! Apparently, they are going to have it so that Mickey can touch your MagicBand and know your name so he can address you personally!

I really think I liked the silent characters better. I think the things they do, the hand gestures, the funny poses, are all a more fun and creative way of expressing themselves.

After Mickey, we took the bus back to the hotel to rest and go in the pool.

It was a really hot one out today and it was a great afternoon to go in the pool. We spent most of the time in the big pool, but also ventured over to the hot tub for a bit.

When we got back to the room, we showered up and then went to the Coconino Cove for some snacks.

Our dinner reservations were for 7:05 at Trail's End, so we left here around 6:00, too the bus to Magic Kingdom, and then took a boat to the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.

We got there around 6:45 and so we walked around the campgrounds and looked at tall the crazy decorations that the RV people had put up at their campsites! It's wild! Then, we tried to find RiverCountry... the old water park. I wanted to find any remnants of it...but couldn't!

At 7:05, we met Frank and Seth at the restaurant for dinner. It was a good meal..lots of good food and dessert. Seth was unable to eat because he just had his wisdom teeth taken out and wasn't able to open his mouth much at all. This was his first trip out of the house since the surgery!

So, the food was good, but immediately afterwards my stomach started bothering me like CRAZY!

Frank and Seth went home, and Dan and I went to Downtown Disney. We walked around, checked out the stores, and some random kid gave me a handshake as we passed him while walking through Pleasure Island. This whole time, my stomach was killing me!

We left there around 10:30 and took a bus back to the hotel. THe bus was really crowded and also had no air conditioning. It was stuffy, but it wasn't unbearable. Lots of people were complaining about the air, and then they realized that almost half of the bus had gotten on the wrong bus! It was crazy! They were ready to revolt!

Thankfully, our bus went to our stop at the hotel first, which was a big surprise because it usually goes to our stop last!

When we got back, Dan and I took a walk around the hotel, around the pool area, and then came back to the room to get ready for bed!

Now we're off to sleep. The plan for tomorrow is Hollywood Studios, testing out the next FastPass+ kisoks, and then going over to Epcot!
