"epcot" or "ohana means family"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up, ready, and had breakfast at Coconino Cove. Love it. Having a built in breakfast has really been a convenience this trip! I had my usual Corn Flakes, orange juice, and took a bagel for the road!

Before heading out to the parks we had to stop at the concierge in our lobby to buy some new park tickets. We had run out, and so we stocked up with a new 10-day park hopper! The lady who helped us buy name was named Minnie and she was from New City, NY... which we had never heard of. She said it's up near the PPP mall!

We headed out to Epcot and our first stop was to get a FastPass for Test Track. We weren't really crazy about the new changes to the ride last time we were here, but figured we should definitely do it! I liked it more than Dan, though, last time.

Next we went to the Universe of Energy and rode Ellen's Energy Adventure! It really is a great ride! I love the Ellen video parts, the Jeopardy! connection, and the ride itself is cool. I can't believe it's a 37 minute ride, though!

When it was over, we went to the World Showcase and rode Maelstrom in Norway. Then we went to Japan, and back to Mexico to do the Gran Fiesta Tour.

We wanted to go into the former Wonders of Life Pavillion which was now serving as the Festival Center for Food and Wine, so we headed in that direction. On the way, we noticed that Mission: Space had only a 5 minute wait. Against my better judgement, we did it. I had only been on this ride ONCE before when it first opened... and let me tell you... I remember why. It has nothing to do with the intensity of the ride, but the whole thing is STUPID! What a dumb attraction, and the Gary Sinise part doesn't make it any better. What a mess.

Next we went to the Festival Center and checked out the stuff in there. I love that Pavillion. I love all the Pavilions. Pavilions are amazing.

We walked over to Innoventions and we did something called the "Vision House" which was a tour of an automated home.

I got a Meatball Hero for lunch at the Electric Umbrella and then Dan walked around the World Showcase and got some drinks and a snack.

Our FastPasses were for 2:55pm, so we went over there and used them at Test Track. I have to say, I was disappointed. That whole beginning part of the line was so disorganized it took us over 25 minutes just to get to the ride, and that part where you design your own car is completely lame.

Next, Frank came to the park to meet up with us, and then Dan's friend from college who was also at Epcot today met us. I needed to get back to the hotel and relax for a bit, so I parted company with them, and headed back. I was the only one on the bus!

When I got there, I went in the hot tub for a while and just relaxed and enjoyed. Then, I came back to the room and took a shower and go ready for our dinner.

Dan got back around 6:15, and I went to Coconino Cove to get some iced tea and chips, and then we caught the bus to Magic Kingdom!

There was no wait at all at the Haunted Mansion, so we rode that and then went to see Mickey's PhilharMagic!

Then we went over to Tomorrowland and rode the People Mover!

At 8;00, we left the park, and we actually took a little bit of a shortcut! Well, more like a secret passage! The streets were crowded because they were getting ready for a parade, so we were allowed to walk BEHIND Main Street USA and then popped back into the park around Town Square! It was wild!

We took a boat over to the Polynesian for our dinner reservations. There was a woman from Pennsylvania sitting with us on the boat and she was soooo nice. We talked to her for a while, she was here for a conference, and she really made my night. She was so friendly.

When we arrived, Nicole and Heather were not there yet. They had taken a wrong turn and wound up near All Star Movies! They got directions, and then headed to the Polynesian. Our reservations were for 8:35 and when they arrived it was about 8:45.

We had dinner at 'Ohana, and it was GREAT! We had eaten there years ago, and it was fun to make our return! The woman who leads the show there was the same one who was there when we stayed at the Polynesian years ago. She's so amazing, and I love her! She has the most amazing personality, she's so fun, and has a beautiful voice. She came over and took pictures with us and was super nice!

As we remembered, the meat just kept on coming! It's so random! One thing we didn't remember was the bowl of noodles and the chicken wings and dumplings. We all recall having waited a long time for our food last time we were there, and we think that they may have forgotten to give us appetizers last time! I wonder if that really happened!

So, dinner was fun and it was great seeing and catching up with Nicole and Heather! It's too bad we're so far and only see eachother for one night a year when Dan and I come to Disney!

After dinner, we took our annual photo in the lobby of the Polynesian along with our Group photo! Then we said goodbye and Dan and I took the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom and got a bus back here to the hotel.

It was the first time we were on one of the NEW design Disney Transport busses. Our bus driver was really nice.... everyone else got off after the first stop at our hotel, so we chatted it up with her the rest of the way. She was such a nice and friendly and fun person! She looked a little like that woman from Harry Potter who plays the teacher who gets let go from Hogwarts... I can't think of her name right now... Trelawny?

Anyway, we got back here, and now we're getting to sleep!

Tomorrow we'll be headed to Magic Kingdom and then possibly Hollywood Studios!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
