"animal kingdom" or "epcot"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 8:30 and got ready to hit the parks again! Dan headed over to Coconino Cove and I finished getting ready and met him over there. I had three bowls of Corn Flakes for breakfast and some orange juice. The orange juice is kinda weird and has a sharp taste to it, but at the same time... I'm getting used to it. I kinda like it... only for here... I'll stick with Tropicana at home!

Next, we headed to the bus stop and then off to Animal Kingdom. Our first order of business was to head over to Expedition Everest! We got a FastPass and then went right on the Single Rider line. We realized after getting on that line that there was really no line on Standby, so as soon as we were done, we rode it again!

We took a walk over to Dinoland USA and then rode the always-a-good-time Primeval Whirl! I don't know why we like that ride so much, but it holds a special place in my heart. lol As Dan says, it's so jerky and it's a painful ride, but for some reason, I still have to do it!

Next we went over to Dinosaur, or as I still call it sometimes, Countdown to Extinction! The best part of the ride is opening video featuring the amazing Phylicia Rashad! So great!

When we were done, we headed back to the other area of the park and did the Flights of Wonder bird show! It's a great show! We always enjoy it, and every time we go, the same guy always plays the part of the tour guide. I don't think it would be the same without him... he's really funny!

We took a walk on the Forest Trail and checked out the animals there, then took the train down the Rafiki's Planet Watch and Conservation Station! There isn't too much to do down there, but we played with this thing that lets you watch what's going on in all the animal areas, and you can control the cameras. We also watched a Turtle that was getting a tracking device installed on his shell.

We took the train back to Harambee around 1:15 and then it was time for our lunch at the Yak and Yeti! We were seated upstairs.... as we have been every single time we've eaten there. I like it up there, so I have no complaints, but I also think it's strange that we've never been downstairs!

Lunch was great, I got the chicken lo mein and it was just like I remembered it!

After lunch, we did the Jungle Trek, saw the tigers, and checked out all the other animals.

We left Animal Kingdom after that... Some things we didn't do were the Kali River Rapids (because we didn't want to get soaked) and the Kilimanjaro Safari (because it's kinda lame now...)

When we got back to the hotel, we went in the pool! It was really hot and sticky out so the pool was a great refreshing break in the middle of the day. Unfortunately, as soon as I got in the pool, I felt cold! lol What a mess. We went down the slide a bunch of times and also sat on the steps of the crazy Mayan pyramid thing that's by the pool. They were having a name that tune game by the pool also, and they played a couple of good songs off of my Disney Classics CDs, so I was dancing while swimming!

On our way back to the room, Dan spotted an alligator in the lake! We stopped to look at it for a bit, and some other people came over, too. When we got back, Dan called the front desk to ask if there were supposed to be alligators in the lake. They said no, so he told them THERE WAS ONE! Crazy!! They asked where, and I'm sure they probably sent someone to check it out! I hope he was still there, and they were able to remove him!

I took a shower, and Dan went to the Coconino Cove and had some drinks and snacks. I had to submit the payroll for work, and when I was done, I headed over there and met Dan, had an iced tea, and then we were off to the bus stop.

We wanted to go to Epcot, but also wanted to take the monorail for the first time this trip! So, we took a bus to Magic Kingdom, then took a boat to the Grand Floridian. We stopped by the Grand Florida to say Hi to frank! He was working in their special concierge lounge area, and so we snuck into the building when some other park-goers opened the door! Hahah! Their lounge area is much fancier than ours! It has hot food, and more drink choices. How the other other half lives!

Frank worked until 7, and when he got off, he showed us around some other areas where he usually works. Then, Dan and I took the monorail from there to the TTC and from the TTC to Epcot!

I was a little sad because they changed the voice track on the monorail. They did keep the exact same thing for "Please stand clear of the doors..." but everything else is changed! Ugh!

We got to Epcot around 8:30, and had dinner at Sunshine Seasons. I love the chicken there, and we shared a chocolate moose cake for dessert.

When we were finished, we went out to watch Illuminations. We got a spot right in the center, directly in line with the American Adventure pavilion directly across the lake.

After the fireworks, we took a stroll around the World Showcase even though it was closed. We stopped to use the bathrooms in the American Adventure (they have new ones that just opened!) We made our way around and it was soooo quiet in the park. Almost everyone had already left, so it was peaceful and fun to walk around Epcot with no crowds!

Our bus didn't take long to arrive, and then we were headed back to the hotel.

When we got back to the hotel, we got ready for bed, watched some TV, and now we're off to sleep!

Tomorrow we plan to go to Epcot in the morning, but we also have to buy tickets because we're completely out! Yikes!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
