"breakfast with the snowqueen" or "muppets family christmas"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up at 8:40 and had to hurry over to the Snow Queen Breakfast! Last year it was cancelled because my mom was sick, so this year it was ever more elaborate!

We got there at 9:15 and everyone else arrived shortly after. We had breakfast in the dining room and my mom made pancakes, eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage, and got bagels! It was a lotttt of food!

It was a good time, we had a lot to eat, and then we hung out for a while. We took a group picture with the Snow Queen and I set the camera to automatically take the photo. Unfortunately, I didn't realize it was set to take TEN pictures... so after the first one everyone started to move and the camera just kept flashing away! It was grea

I watched some episodes of The Brady Bunch with Eric and then at about 11:45, we had to leave to go to the open house for the house across the street from Dan's parents' house. We figured we'd take a second look and come back with my mom and Dan's mom.

We headed over here and then over to the house across the street. My mom and Dan's mom weren't thrilled with it, thought it was overpriced, and neither of them like the high ranch style either. Ugh. It's so annoying that there can be houses that match our criteria on the market right now! We need some ranches or small colonials! Let's Go!!

After we were done, my mom came over here and we all chatted about random things in the living room.

When my mom left, Dan and I realized that we had to go to Target to use the 20% off bonus coupon we had gotten on Black Friday! We didn't want it to go to waste and we wanted to get EVERYTHING we thought we needed for a while to make the most use of the coupon.

The store was more crowded than it usually is, probably because of the coupon. When we parked, a woman came over to us to ask us if we wanted her coupon because she had gotten two! We made two passes around the store and also checked out the clothing section. We also made great use of Cartwheel and the Target Mobile coupons, too! We saved a LOT! We wound up getting $51+ off with the 20% coupon, $15+ from Cartwheel, and $8.90 by using the RedCard! Amazingness!

We didn't buy anything stupid, either.... all of the stuff we bought was stuff we needed and we just bought a little more of it to make the most of the discount! Woop!!

In fact, we did such a great job that we crashed the cash register! The cashier, Eric, who rang us up did everything, then scanned our Cartwheel, and when he did th 20% off coupon.... it completely froze! We waited about 5 minutes to see if it would come back but it never did. He was really apologetic, but I didn't really mind. It was no big deal. Then we went to another register where they rang it all up all over again!

When he was done ringing it up, the signature pad wouldn't work!! I couldn't sign my name and I couldn't press any of the buttons! The kid working the register was very upset about it since this was the SECOND TIME and we had so many things!

In the end he just printed out the slip and I signed it!

When we were done it was about 5:00 so we hurried back and had some TV dinners. We were pretty hungry and we had to be at Re's at 6 for a night of Christmas movies and merriment!

We left here around 5:40 and got there just after 6. Jen B and Amanda were there when we arrived and Lau and Ryan, Robby, and Allie and Alana came later! We had drinks and snacks and our first movie was Home Alone! We all caught a part of it that we had never seen before.... When the father is cleaning the table after the soda is spilled in the beginning, the throws away Kevin's plane ticket! That explains why when they hand in all the tickets at the gate... there isn't an extra ticket! Interesting!

Re had prepared several trivia games for us throughout the night to win points to see who had the most Christmas Cheer!

Dan and I did very well on the first few rounds! We weren't so good at the quotes from classic movies because there were a ton from Miracle on 34th Street and It's a Wonderful Life, which I've never seen!

After that, we watched A Muppet Family Christmas which I had also never seen. Lau and Re love it, and I have to say... It was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it! It was hysterical. The Muppets go to Fozzie's mom's house and meet up with the Sesame Street characters and the Fraggles. I loved the Swedish Chef trying to cook Big Bird, and hitting the turkey with celery sticks! I really want to get it on DVD but they don't make it anymore and it's soooo expensive on EBay! Ridiculous!

Anyway, after the movie we hung around a little longer and then everyone departed! Tomorrow we have to get up bright and early for Breakfast with Santa!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
