"set up for the big party" or "we won, we won! our first curling win in months!"

Hey Journal!

Phew! What a crazy packed day we had today! I have to get to bed as soon as possible, but here's the rundown!

We got up this morning around 9:30 and Dan went to the gym. When he got back, he showered up and then we headed out at about 11:30 to my cousin's house. We arrived there at 12:00 and we helped them set up for Evelyn's birthday party tomorrow!

Jackie had purchased a ton of great decorations and we got them all out and set them up! We helped set up the tables, brought tables and chairs in from the garage, and put the tablecloths on! It doesn't sound like as much work as it was!

We had Chinese food for lunch... the Lo Mein and PFR was great and they even gave a "Free Gift" of chinese doughnuts! They were great, too... however I had to ruin the fun by finding a long Chinese hair in the box! Party foul!

Anyway, we had a fun time doing all the decorating and we stayed until about 4:30.

Next, we were off to Julio's Going Away Party! On the way we made a pit stop at Target to get a present for Evelyn's party. We got her a fun toy and an outfit! We also stopped at the Starbucks in Target to get a drink. We ordered, and then they started to make our drinks. A minute or so later they handed us the drinks, and Dan was confused, and said... "We didn't pay....." The girl said that the register was down, so they were free! Wahoo!!!

I loved that we got the drinks for free but it was so random that they didn't even say anything about it until we were confused as to why we weren't being asked to pay! Wild! It made my day, though!

We got to Julio's around 5:30. I can't believe he's leaving for a year (or more) in London! It's pretty cool for him to be able to go over there and work for the same company, keep the same benefits, but just live in a different place! His mom went all out on the decorations and bought lots of london and UK themed items!

I had some stuffed shells and also ate a ton of pretzels! The pretzels were really good... they tasted very buttery. I'm gonna have to get that kind next time we go to the store.

We hung out there until about 8:15 and then we had to depart for Curling!

We met Re and Linda at the Panera in Bellmore and we had our pre-Curling meeting! We presented Re with her Honey Badger of the Week certificate for the time when she confronted the jerk on the other time after he was rude to us!

Curling was good tonight, too. We had a fun time and we actually WON a game! Wahoo!! We felt like we played exceptionally well tonight. We were all on our game. Linda was landing right on the button, Re was aiming perfectly, I had a few good takeouts, and I was really into my sweeping tonight!

We all felt that we were more evenly matched than we had been some of the other games. We also played a team with no subs, which was also good! (Even though they only had 3 players!)

As soon as curling was over, we headed home and now we're getting ready for bed. We have a busy day tomorrow and have to get up at 7:30am, so I'd better get to sleep!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
