"soccer games, parades, county legislators, iPhones, lunch, open houses, dinner, and more!"

Hey Journal!

Today was a really PACKED day! We've been out since early in the morning and I'm EXHAUSTED! I don't think I've had such a busy day in a long time!

We got up this morning at 8:30 and got ready quickly so that we could leave for Cameron's soccer game. We planned to be there at 9:30, so we had to leave here at 9. We were hungry, but didn't have time to stop for anything to eat! We met Linda and Cameron at the field which was called "Zumo's Park next to the Main Road." (Actually... that's what Cameron calls it. It's actually Speno Park.)

We watched her play for a little bit and then we had to leave to get over to Connor's little league parade. Linda dropped Cameron off with Dan and Connor to march in the parade and then we headed back to Linda's parents' house to watch the parade go by. While we were waiting for it to start, we went to 7-11 to get a little something to hold us over. I got a donut with sprinkles and hot chocolate! Mmm.

The parade came by and we watched from right at the end of Linda's street. Then, after Connor's team passed, we hurried over to the other side of the street to watch it go by again. We walked up near the field, and watched them go by again.

They were supposed to have a game today but it was cancelled and that was probably for the best! It was chilly out, anyway. Dan, Dan, Connor, and Cameron got some food and then after they were done eating we started to walk back to the house.

On our way out of the park, we ran into a man who asked if he could borrow Connor to be in photo! We weren't really sure what it was for or why... but Linda said yes! It turned out it was a county legislator who wanted to have a picture taken with some kids next to her sign at the park. As we approached, I could hear her yelling, "I NEED CHILDREN!" She was wild.

We headed over and she was still looking for some more people to be in the picture! She found another child and called him over and he stood right in front of her big sign! She wasn't happy, and she said, "YOU'RE BLOCKING MY SIGN!" Then she said that parents could be in the photo, too.... Linda didn't hesitate, and after a while, I got in as well! SO RANDOM! I love that I'm gonna be in some weird photo with a Nassau County Legislator! The woman who took the photo asked Linda to write her name and address. I think it's going to be in the paper! How exciting!

Once the photo op was over, we walked back. We hung around for a while and then went to an open house with Linda and Dan. When we walked in the door, there was really weird opera music playing, candles lit on the table, and nobody in sight. Eventually this really weird round man came out of nowhere and gave us the grand tour. He was nice, but really strange! The house was a good size and shape but it was a little old and needed some work.

The upstairs bedrooms were a shaped a little weird.....one had old carpet and the other had really gross floors. The one with the gross floors had a really strange ceiling, too! There was also a closet in the upstairs bedroom with a weird hatch that had a pump machine and a hose inside and I have no idea what that would be doing on the second floor of a house!

After we were done checking out the house, we went to Chili's for lunch! We both got the two for $20 and Dan, Linda, and I got frozen Margaritas! I love their drinks... I know I always say it, but they have the best consistency of any frozen drink ever! They also had these new kiosks on each table that let you play games at the table. I don't really think it's necessary to play games when you're out to dinner but I do think it's cool that you can pay using it. It let you split the check, too... but it was a little limited in that you could only split it evenly. We didn't want to split evenly, so we just adjusted our tips to make it correct!

When we were done eating, Dan headed off to work, and Dan, Linda, and I went to Target to get Linda's new iPhone! Wahoo!! The guy at the Target Mobile was nice and Linda decided on the "Coral" colored one! She got a nice case, too, that you can see the color through. We didn't activate it there because she actually had to upgrade her mom's line in order to keep her unlimited data!

Before heading back, we perused the store and Linda found some bristle blocks and said that Connor really likes them! She bought them for him, and they were on sale, too. They were really fun, actually... I used to love them when I was little, and later on we all played with them... they were a big hit.

When we got back, I helped set up the phone. It took a little while because we had to activate it on her mom's line and then transfer her mom's phone back. Then, we had to back up the old iPhone, but unfortunately Linda couldn't find a charger for it and it was dead! Yikes!! Dan was out in the back playing with Connor and Cameron so Linda and I went to the store to get a cheap charger. We went to Rite Aid and were hoping they'd have a really cheap one, but they didn't have any at all. Next, we went to Radio Shack and they only had a $40 one which was completely ridiculous!

In the same shopping center there was a dollar store and we wound up getting a perfectly good one for just $3.99! Wahoo!

Once everything was done with the phone we all played with the bristle blocks and made fun stuff with them. Re had texted me and said she didn't have much going on and wanted to see what we were up to. We decided to go to Panera for dinner and we met there at 7:00.

On our way, we were stopped at a light right near the Panera and all of a sudden this crazy loud horn went off! It was INSANE! I have no idea what the purpose of it was or what the horn was supposed to alert us about, but it was sooooo loud!

After we ate we were going to go bowling but Re decided she wanted to upgrade her phone, too so we went to Target again. The mobile department was closed already so we couldn't do that, but we walked around for a while. Connor had a little bit of a meltdown in Target over some Minecraft merchandise and then after we left Target we all decided to call it a night.

We dropped Linda, Connor, and Cameron back off at home and then we left around 10:30. We just got home and I'm super tired from such a full day!

Dan and I are going to watch a little bit of last night's Shark Tank and then get to bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
