"cameron's 5th birthday party"

Hey Journal!

We got up around 10:00 this morning and Dan's parents wanted to go out to breakfast with us. We got out of the house a little after 10:30 and then we headed to the Professor's Diner! While we were there, Dan and I realized that the last time we were there was almost a year ago.... August 2013.

Breakfast was good... I got the "Number Eleven." The only thing that I don't like about the Professor's Diner is that the orange juice that comes with the meal is like the size of a shot glass. It's absurd.

Despite that, we had a good time and breakfast was very enjoyable. When we were done, we drove past our new house AGAIN and then we came back here.

This afternoon, we had Cameron's 5th Birthday party, so we wanted to get ready and head out there. As soon as we got home, we got changed, ready, and wrapped our present. Dan's mom gave us a nice card to give her... it was pretty cool!

We were a little early so we made a couple of stops along the way. First, we stopped at Urban Outfitters in the Walt Whitman Mall.... oh... I mean, the "Walt Whitman Shops" How classy we are now.

Anyway, I tried on a shirt that I really liked but it had some deep v-neck issues that I couldn't overlook. Dan tried on a shirt and some pants, but he decided even though the pants looked nice, they were JUST on the verge of being too small, so he didn't want to spend the money on them. He did, however, get a nice shirt that was on clearance for 4.99.

When we left there, we headed to Linda's for the big party... it was a SURPRISE PARTY, by the way! I really wanted a Slurpee, so we stopped at the 7-11 around the corner. I originally wanted a Lemonade slurpee, but the consistency wasn't quite right. Luckily, they had another flavor I liked... Hawaiian Punch!

Dan got an iced coffee, and we got a Slurpee for Linda and then headed over! We helped finish setting up for the party, and then soon after Cameron arrived for the big surprise. She and Connor had spent last night at their other Grandparents' house, and when they came back...we were all waiting in the driveway! We all yelled Surprise, and Cameron was a bit overwhelmed! I mean, she DID say she wanted a surprise party.... I guess it was just a little too unexpected!

She needed a minute to absorb all that was going on, but she quickly got into the partying spirit!

We had pizza and cake and it was a good time.

When it came time to open presents, I am happy to say that it seems like our gift was her favorite! I mean, Linda did tell us what to get... but we get all the credit! We got Cameron one of those "Waffle Chairs" from Target. They are pretty cool, and she's been asking for one every time they go to the store. She opened it up and said, "I'VE ALWAYS WANTED ONE OF THESE!" and then she sat in it while she opened the rest of her presents!

Dan and I left around 7:00 and headed home. When we got back, Dan did his run around the neighborhood and I got showered up and ready for bed. I had a TV dinner, and then we watched some Scandal! I can't believe we only have a few more episodes before we're all caught up... but it may take a while since Dan's going to be away most of this week!

Anyway, now it's time for bed... back to work tomorrow... no fun.
