"clambake"

Hey Journal!

This morning we got up around 10:00 and Dan and I watched Super Password! Then Dan went out to the gym and I ran on the treadmill.

-Gym- Report:
1 mile on the Treadmill in 14mins
1 mile on the Treadmill in 14mins

It was really nice to get back on the treadmill.... I miss being able to do it every day, and as soon as we get into our new house I really want to get back to doing it all the time! Once we get a treadmill, I can get right on it every day when I get home from work and watch the news at the same time. It'll be so convenient to be able to jump right in the shower when I'm done!

Anyway, I did some laundry, too and then when Dan got home we went out to the Commack Post Office to drop off the dues invoices for work. I wanted to drop them today so that they start arriving on Monday. I should get a few calls on Monday and then Tuesday, all the craziness will start.

When we got back, Dan took a shower and then I took a shower and we got ready to go out for lunch. We went to Houlihan's in Farmingdale. I got the Chicken Parmesan.

Next, we went to H&M and I had wanted to get another pair of the new shorts I had gotten a couple of months ago. They're really comfortable, fit well, and look great. Luckily, they still had some in stock and I got two more colors. They were only $9.95 now! Nice!

On our way home, we stopped at Target in Commack and we wanted to get some things for the new house and take advantage of some coupons! We found two shelves that we wanted for the basement... somewhere to put the things we buy like food and cleaning stuff. They were $50 each, and we also got some curtain rods and welcome mats. By spending over $75 in the "Home" category, we got an automatic savings of $15, but since we were buying some other things, we split our sale into two, and EACH got the $15 off. On top of that, we had another coupon for $5 off (each) and cartwheel had 20% off Room Essentials stuff! It was amazing. All in all, we left with what would have cost $152 for just $82! Wahoo!!

We got a GREAT DEAL! We were so happy.

After that, we came home and had some time to kill before going to the Clambake tonight! We relaxed a little and then got ready to go.

Lau and Ryan picked us up at 6:00 and we headed over to the golf course. We arrived around 6:30 but didn't want to head right in. We took them on a little golf cart ride and toured the course. Next, we went in the basement and I showed off my office and all the other crazy stuff downstairs.

We were watching other people come in to the Clambake and we noticed that they were all MUCH more dressy than in years past. We had our shorts on, and Ryan had a pair of jeans. It was so weird because in previous years it's been much more casual... I don't know why everyone decided to take it up a notch on their own!

Feeling a little uncomfortable, we all shot over to Target and QUICKLY found some nice pants. We tried them on, and the dressing room girl thought we were crazy, I think. She wouldn't let us wear the pants out of the dressing room, but she did tell us if we came back with our receipts, we could put them on.

We bought the pants, got changed, and then returned to the event!

I don't eat any seafood, so there wasn't really much for me. For the cocktail hour, we hung out inside and got a table in the corner of the room. We stayed off to the side and I didn't eat anything because it was all clams and oysters and such.

Eventually, we made our way outside and checked in with Norm. He was his usual self... he hasn't changed in the year since we last saw him. Then we went to the buffet and got some dinner! Finally I was able to eat. I got a nice piece of steak, some string beans, and potatoes. It was very good.

We ate at the bar and hung out. We were there with Jackie's husband and we talked to Kathleen for a while. A little later, after we had finished eating, we went out on the patio to listen to the music. There was an open table where the people had left to go join another table, so we took that. At first it was just the four of us, and then Jackie's husband came over and sat with us.

Norm's tunes were good.... and it was a PERFECT night out! You couldn't have asked for a better night for this type of event. It was great.

So, we all had a really fun time and enjoyed the music and the food! We left around 11:00, and Lau and Ryan dropped us back off at home.

Now we're just getting ready for bed!

Until tomorrow...

Goodnight. :)
